Basic Functions of the Position
The incumbent will work in an official diplomatic residence located in The Hague. The incumbent works under the general direction of the Residence Manager and in close coordination with the rest of the staff. Responsible for the general cleaning of the residence, bedroom and bathroom linen inventories, and residence laundry duties. Responsible for breakfast duty when required. Assists during representational events and meals and assists the Chef in the kitchen. Responsible with the Butler for buying and arranging flowers for representational events. Performs Butler duties when required. Makes sure the staff room is kept clear and organized in coordination with the other staff members. Maintains and waters indoor plants. Performs other acceptable duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
1. Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
2. Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar environment or in a customer service-oriented position.
3. Language Requirements: Speaking/Reading Writing level 3 (good working knowledge) English.
4. Skills and Abilities: Incumbent must be able to work with considerable independence and have sound judgement. Must be able to work flexible schedule and handle visitors and guests from all levels and background. Must be knowledgeable in cleaning as well as in the use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Must have good serving skills. Must be discreet.
Any of the above qualifications may be tested through an assessment as part of the recruitment process.

2. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a Local Security Certification.
