We are looking for
an immediate, full-time, permanent
position in EMEA.Job Purpose:
The Senior Category Manager - Warehouse Solutions, Automation will drive regional and global sourcing initiatives, developing and implementing strategic category plans to optimize supplier partnerships and procurement efficiency. This role is responsible for identifying and engaging best-in-class suppliers, leading strategic negotiations with regional vendors, and collaborating with senior stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives. Additionally, the Senior Category Manager will contribute to global category initiatives, ensuring innovation and continuous improvement in warehouse automation solutions.
Your tasks:
- Specialize in strategic sourcing for global group-wide initiatives with a focus on Automation, equipment or robotics used in warehouse environment in order to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply as needed by the business / function in scope
- Provide professional sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research / intelligence, build up strong supplier basis to support business decisions in investments and budgets
- Establish and manage strong relationships with divisional colleagues and suppliers and Procurement global and regional organization
- Manage international, complex Sourcing-Events (RFI, RFQ, RFP), creating value proposal for business and providing proactively innovative solutions to maximize value, e.g. Volume bundling, global leverage, design to cost, cost engineering...
- Driving strategic sourcing, be the owner of respective categories, identifying strategic sourcing opportunities and development and management of strategic suppliers
- Manage strategic supplier relationship, negotiate and implement global and regional Frame-Contracts
- Develop, implement and update sourcing strategies for the Warehouse Solutions category, manage risk and optimize the resilience of technical sourcing in line with business needs, strategy, industry best practices, regulatory framework, and current legislation
- Ability to build networks and to manage supplier and key stakeholders
Your profile:
- Relevant university degree and/or equivalent experience, qualification to at least degree level in engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in sourcing of automation and capex projects. Proven experience in negotiation
- Excellent communication in English and German language, both written and spoken
- Profound knowledge of standard software MS-Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), MS-Project) and procurement process
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize large amount of information
- Profound technical- und market knowledge, ideally in warehouse equipment and solutions
- Excellent relationship management, eventually successful project management experiences
