In 1947 Ernest Haffmans founded the company as an agency for the European brewing industry. Back then, the main focus lay on the supply of raw materials. When in the early 1960's Ernest Haffmans decided to develop and assemble quality control equipment, the famous CO2 Gehaltemeter was born. In the 1970's these activities were extended and Haffmans started to deliver CO2 recovery technology. In 1980 Bert Haffmans succeeded his father. The focus of the company shifted from trading into research and development, manufacturing and service in the fields of quality control equipment, units for carbonation, blending and water de-aeration, and CO2 recovery. In 1998 Norit became the 100 percent shareholder of Haffmans BV and Menno M. Holterman was appointed Managing Director. With customers in more than 150 countries, the Norit Group came to be a real multinational company with a strong focus on innovation and customer satisfaction. In 2007 was time to celebrate the 60th birthday of Haffmans BV. The same year, Haffmans BV introduced a new oxygen measurement device (OGM) to the world market. In 2008 Haffmans BV appointed Olaf Müller as Managing Director. Müller succeeded Holterman, who was appointed as Chief Growth Officer and member of the Executive Board of Directors Norit NV. In May 2011, Pentair, Inc. acquired Clean Process Technologies (CPT), a division of privately held Norit Holding B.V. The companies under CPT – Filtrix, Haffmans, Nijhuis, Norit Components & Services, Norit Process Technology, Südmo, and X-Flow – are now part of Pentair’s Filtration Solutions global business unit.

Al meer dan 65 jaar ontwikkelt Haffmans kwaliteitscontrole producten en proces-installatie voor onder andere de wereldwijde drankenindustrie. Momenteel verkoopt en serviced Haffmans haar producten in meer dan 150 landen over de gehele wereld.
