Let me introduce myself: my name is Carolien and I work as HR Business Partner at Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, a beautiful monumental hotel located alongside the Amstel River, and I am looking for passionate colleagues to join our team.

Pestana Amsterdam Riverside is part of the Pestana Collection Hotels. Housed in a pair of 19th century Neo-Renaissance-style buildings and two modern annexes, the hotel has a total of 154 elegant guestrooms and suites; our partnership with the Cocoon Wellness Spa offers our guests one of the largest indoor swimming pools in Amsterdam, a well-equipped fitness center, and a comprehensive menu of holistic treatments; the restaurant and bar Archive by Pestana are opened daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a Portuguese inspired menu; and our 8 meeting rooms allow us to host events up to 200 people. What will you be doing?
As the Meetings & Events Specialist you will be the first contact of guests that are looking for a location to organize an event. This can be anything from a business meeting to a social event like a private dinner or a high tea. Nothing is beyond our imagination! Together with the guest you will discuss the possibilities and look for the best alternatives to create an unique experience at Pestana.
Alongside the Meetings and Events Manager, you will work in a small and enthusiastic team where no day will be the same. We are counting on you to:
Organize and communicate events from A – Z.
Create personalized offers to ensure the events meet the expectations of the guests.
Prepare quotes, proposals, contracts, and invoices for external parties.
Organize show rounds for existing and potential relations to make guests enthusiastic about our location.
Assist clients in making F&B choices, decoration of their event, Audio Visual support, and completion of the event. (Upselling)
Be responsible for clear communication to relevant departments
Be present in weekly event meetings and provide the operational departments with the right and relevant information
Be present at major business activities and events at the hotel.
Maintain contact with the clients after the event has taken place to make sure you are building a relationship.
Together with the Meetings and Events Manager you will come up with out of the box (sales and marketing) activities to expand event possibilities.

What do we expect from you?
Proactivity, autonomy and creativity
You like to work organized and structured
Positive attitude and a real team player mindset
Completed MBO or HBO education in the field of hospitality or Tourism
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong ability for account management
Fluency in English, Dutch is not mandatory but preferred
Lives within or close to Amsterdam
Excellent sales skills and know how to bring ideas out of the box
Having a first operational experience within the hotel industry is a big advantage!
Flexibility and adaptability to changes
Experience with Opera Cloud
