If your idea of a perfect day is:
You meet one of your managers and together walk through their team; who is up for promotion? Who needs some extra attention or care? Getting a coffee and hurry to the meet up with a colleague dealing with a collaboration problem within a team. Then meeting with the recruiter to discuss how to effectively deal with the challenge to find new staff. You go back to your workstation and prepare a difficult job offer for a new international hire. Luckily you can call your expert colleagues to think along with you. You continue at your workstation to handle some emails and are touched by a message from an employee thanking you for your help during his re-integration process. And then you see an invite of a HR colleague requesting your participation in a process optimalization project. But before you can answer, you have your meeting with a new manager who you have to inform their enthusiastic idea isn't legally possible and convince them to explore together what could be possible.

We are
The HRM service department of TU/e. Consisting of approximately 100 enthusiastic colleagues. You are part of a team of 30 HR Advisors and also work closely with the HRM colleagues of HR Services, recruitment, policy, development and other colleagues. We achieve results together, we engage others, we have a drive for quality and a culture of learning and we are adaptive to change.

You are seconded to work within one of de faculties. The faculties are dedicated to shaping the engineers of tomorrow through inclusive education and conducting cutting-edge fundamental and applied research with a large societal impact. You will work closely with HR advice colleagues and the HR Services team of the faculty. You are responsible for HR advice of the research groups but also work on projects, policy development and organizational change.
Job description
In this all-round position, you deal with all aspects of the HR-field. About you:
- You thrive on finding ways to support managers whose main focus is not on management but on research and education.
- You can build a relationship with our (academic) managers where you develop from HR advisor to trusted HR partner. You support the manager in keeping an overview, supported by HR data and understanding the business needs. Your unsolicited advice is heard and taken seriously.
- You really know the faculty you work for inside out. This knowledge enables you to advise colleagues of HRM policy or development on trends or recurring issues surpassing an individual faculty.
- You balance the business approach with a warm understanding of people. Enabling you to coach management and employees in a respectful way, contributing to a smoothly running team or de-escalating complex cases.
- You understand HR is a balance act between the advisory role and an operational role when you ensure the processes are correctly set up. You acknowledge the importance of performing your administrative tasks correct and on time. TU/e works with AFAS Insite.
- You can keep your focus, decide what to prioritize and what not, keep an overview of what needs to be done, when and how.
- And you are a colleague that contributes to the success of our team. By sharing ideas and contributing to university-wide projects. And as a bonus we value your humor, we work hard but it is ok to also have fun working together.
Functie-eisen
As a candidate
- You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in HRM or in a relevant field.
- You have multiple years of HR work experience at advising level within a complex (and preferably similar) organization.
- You have an excellent track record in leading (behavioral) change management and improvement tracks.
- You have experience in organizational change.
- You have an excellent oral and written command of the Dutch and English languages.
- You can maintain overview and your workstyle is people-, process- and project-oriented. You have a high degree of independence and flexibility as an HR professional. In doing so, you show persuasiveness and connect with people.
- You are result-oriented and make a professional contribution to the development of HRM and the HR advisory role within it.
- You want to be part of and contribute to a team.
