As a Solution Consultant, you are responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement of IT applications within the Digital Supply Chain domain. This domain includes all aspects of managing logistical data such as sharing, processing, and organizing it up to, but not including, its use in reporting systems (e.g., data lakes) or operational tools (e.g., track and trace systems) within CBS
In your role, you act as the solution expert and primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and IT suppliers. Your responsibility is to strike a balance between business needs, technical feasibility, and financial constraints, ensuring sustainable, secure, and high-performing systems. A key part of your work involves gathering and translating business needs (user stories) into clear specifications for optimal platform configuration. As part of the requirement analysis, a thorough understanding of what the business needs and why often explored using the "5x why" technique is essential to your success.
Your key responsibilities:
- Collect and translate business needs (user stories) into specifications for optimal configuration of business platforms.
- Participate in PI events, defining user stories, estimating effort, and advising on prioritization.
- Create high-level order specifications for IT suppliers, ensuring functional specifications and integration designs are clear.
- Review and assess designs and technical specifications provided by IT suppliers.
- Act as a functional/tactical single point of contact for the platform, supporting colleagues and suppliers with third-line problem-solving.
- Advise the business on best practices, processes, and future strategies for IT applications.
- Manage multiple IT suppliers and budgets based on department needs.
You will be part of a DevOps team within PostNL's international Digital Supply Chain domain,. The Digital Supply Chain consists of two DevOps teams: (1) the EMP/Core team, an AWS-based team focused on the Event Management Platform and the Central Operational Register, and (2) the Business & Data Services (B&DS) team, a Mendix team that develops applications to support, clean, and enrich data throughout the supply chain.
You will be collaborating closely with stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams. Our team operates in an international logistics environment, where IT plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient, secure and reliable digital supply chain solutions.

- A HBO/WO degree in business informatics, systems engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the logistics industry is a plus.
- Strong presentation and demonstration skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, building long-term relationships inside and outside the organization.
- Experience in writing detailed project proposals, including technical specifications and cost estimates.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Dutch minimum B level and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
