Your jobAs a Senior Data Steward in the EEDD, you will play a vital role in shaping and implementing our data management strategies, focusing on proactive data improvements and robust data governance. You are expected to take a leading role in the data management activities and projects our team fulfils. Your expertise will be essential for managing data risks and ensuring compliance with ABN AMRO's CDO policies, guidelines, and standards. Based on your sharp observations, you take a leading role in addressing challenges related to the Data Management processes and policies that we work with. Next to that, you foster a collaborative environment and are intrinsically motivated to guide the other Data Stewards in both content knowledge and soft skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement data management policies and procedures, ensuring strategic alignment and best practices.
- Collaborate with Analysts, Scientists, and other Data Stewards to support Use Cases and gather requirements for new and existing Data Products.
- Take a leading role in, ánd 'hands-on' contribute yourself, to applied Data Management activities and projects, such as Data Issue Management, reviewing and creating Use Case registrations, assessing Data Sharing Agreements, creating Business Data Models, Data Quality Monitoring, Golden Dataset management, registering Data Lineage, and so on.
- Identify and pro-actively address challenges for our Data Domain related to the Data Management processes, policies and standards we work with.
- Mentor and support the Data Steward team on both content knowledge and soft skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
The EEDD consists of approximately fifty data professionals that collectively serve our stakeholders. Together we turn data into value. The Data Steward Team consists of approximately 8 Data Stewards, all reporting directly to a Data Product Owner. As a domain we are responsible for data quality, data distribution, data engineering & science and data analytics and our Data Stewards play a crucial role in guiding these processes. Together we work on (complex) data projects. We closely collaborate with colleagues from outside our own Data Management capability to get the job done. We all are eager to learn and improve ourselves. We work hybrid, team members work at least one day per week, preferably two, from our headquarters in Amsterdam.
Your profileWe are seeking a Senior Data Steward with a strong analytical mindset, a passion for Data Management and Governance and demonstrable experience in Data Management and/or a similar role. Do you think there is a fit with us? Check your profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience in Data Management (DAMA DMBOK) and Data Governance and/or a similar role.
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus), capable of articulating complex data scenarios to diverse audiences, including senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborative skills, with the ability to influence and work with stakeholders from different technical and non-technical areas, promoting data management activities.
- A mindset of continuous learning and improvement that you are intrinsically motivated to share.
- Being able to oversee complex connected processes, policies and standards, to translate those to different organizational contexts and, subsequently, to identify and pro-actively address related challenges.
- Competitive salary, based on 36 hours work week. Grading depends on knowledge and experience.
