Avion focuses on Full Flight Simulator design, manufacturing, and operation. Our integrated design of Full Flight Simulators is unique in the pilot training industry. We enable airlines to train at their home base, giving them complete control of the training schedule. This way, airlines can cut costs and CO2 emissions and have a well-rested flight crew. In other words, it benefits economic, environmental, and social sustainability targets.
Avion is ramping up its R&D activities by developing and improving functions like lesson plans, debrief tools, and software updates for the Airbus A320 simulator. To support the enhanced R&D program, Avion will expand its team in the coming months.
About the job
Avion is looking for an Integration Specialist to conduct integration, testing and acceptance work for the Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulators and future new aircraft types (e.g., Boeing 737 MAX).
Tasks
Responsibilities
- Computer software installation and configuration
- Schedule and coordinate hardware and software integration
- Acceptance of motion, control loading and visual systems
- Provide technical expertise during subjective and objective evaluations
- Coordinate and review technical deliverables, including QTGs
- Track and resolve hardware and software integration issues as well as customer issues
- Liaise with customers during factory and site acceptance
- Maintain and update simulator documentation
- Being a representative to customer & authorities
Requirements
Required skills and experience
- High analytical skills
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Several years of experience going through complex high-tech products’ production, installation and acceptance phases (preferably flight simulators or related products).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong work ethic: comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company environment
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to maximize productivity
- Thorough understanding of configuration management systems (SVN & Gitlab in particular)
- Willingness to travel abroad for extended periods
- Experience with installing and configuring Windows or Linux operating systems
- Solid knowledge of networking and troubleshooting network-related problems
- Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and use them for troubleshooting
- Hands-on with the ability to perform both electrical and mechanical work.
Desirable skills and experience
- Ability to mentor colleagues and lead by example
- Knowledge/training on how to tune Control Loading Systems (CLS) is considered a big plus
- Experience with programming in C / C++ and/or Simulink
- Understanding embedded software, particularly ATmega, Arduino microchip firmware or similar
- Experience with programming on Raspberry Pi
