As a Product Owner at the Digital IT Department at PostNL, you will help build, implement and support from an IT perspective. Together with your team, you help with the digitization of our customer processes and to deliver the new functionalities and to communicate with the stakeholders.
At the Digital IT department, we are part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary Agile team comprising approximately 10 talented individuals. Our primary focus is on modern technical customer integration capabilities. We take pride in realizing digital customer interaction and supporting the underlying commercial processes. Collaboration is key, as we work closely with all PostNL business units to deliver a unified PostNL customer experience across various channels and services.

As a member of our development team, you play a pivotal role in driving our customers' growth. Collaborating closely with our business stakeholders, you take charge of managing the backlog of initiatives and epics that our team is dedicated to. You serve as the bridge between our customers' needs and the technology solutions we provide, adept at interpreting requirements from both sides. Your responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive overview, crafting well-defined requirements for the team, and ensuring that all the necessary information and tools are readily available. This facilitates efficient sprints, maximizing the value we create.
To achieve this, we leverage tools such as Rally, Miro, and Confluence. Together with your ScrumMaster, you foster continuous improvement within the team, ensuring that each day is an improvement over the last. Customer satisfaction and cost reduction are key performance indicators you prioritize. Collaborating with the team, you cultivate a positive and secure working environment, built on shared team principles. We entrust you with significant responsibility, and in return, you enjoy considerable autonomy.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Working with initiatives and epic owners working on their vision, translating this into a roadmap, and working with your team on its realization;
- Ensure concrete changes and improvements in a decisive manner;
- Foreseeing, recognizing and translating the needs of the business into solutions that fit within the target architecture;
- Agile (Scrum) meetings such as refinement, sprint planning, review, and retrospective;
- Making a big impact, among other things by daring to make important choices in the field of planning and feasibility;
- Inspiring and motivating the development team. You like to spar about the value of epics, and features and wonder how you can divide them into functional user stories in the most valuable way or what the best solution is to realize those user stories;
- You stay informed of new developments and look for opportunities.
You are good at listening to others, you know what our customers and stakeholders want and you can give them valuable advice in achieving their digital ambitions. You have experience in the digital industry and are therefore a real sparring partner for our customers and business stakeholders. You can easily make the translation to developers in your team and they can count on perfect planning every day because organizing is second nature to you.
- Hbo working and thinking level or higher;
- Experience as a Product Owner;
- Strong communicator towards customer and team and someone who stands firm;
- Analytically strong and able to understand complex processes;
- Experience with Rally, Miro and Confluence is a big plus;
- Mandatory to speak Dutch on at least B1-level;
- Affinity with software development;
- Familiar with Agile (Scrum) methods.

- A gross salary in the range €4.280 - €6.062 per month based on a full-time contract of 37 hours;
- 8% vacation pay and 25 vacation days if you work full-time;
