The role
Damen Naval in Vlissingen is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Integration Engineer Interior with a specialization in Joinery of Accommodation and Technical Spaces. In this dynamic role, you will be essential in ensuring the successful subcontracting and detailed engineering of joinery/accommodation systems for our naval vessels. Your expertise will transform design concepts into precise technical specifications, oversee the engineering process, and maintain compliance with stringent quality standards.
Key accountabilities
As Integration Engineer Interior, your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop functional technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors based on customer and design requirements.
- Create detailed technical specifications for joinery works, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to select suitable materials and suppliers for accommodation joinery and insulation.
- Support quality inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure finished joinery meets required standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the production team, resolving any issues that arise during the project.
- Maintain accurate documentation of joinery specifications, changes, and project progress.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of joinery works with other ship systems.
- Stay updated with industry developments and best practices related to joinery works, incorporating them into projects where appropriate.
Skills & experience
To excel as Integration Engineer Interior, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Civil Architecture, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Specification Engineer or similar role, focusing on joinery works in the maritime industry.
- Deep knowledge of joinery materials, techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software for technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex engineering data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with naval vessel construction processes and regulations is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal and knowledge of German is a significant advantage.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
