ING is looking for a senior risk manager to join the Credit Risk Model Validation team

Roles and responsibilities
Directly managing three chapter leads, indirectly overseeing a total of ~40 individuals organized across several teams.
Give input on the Area's strategy towards the Tribe strategy and accountable for cascading Guild & Tribe content related strategy and guidance.
Setting the overall priorities for the Area considering CRMV strategic priorities and Chapter needs.
Supports the Tribe Lead in ensuring that the Tribe complies consistently & effectively with relevant regulatory policies as well as ING's internal policies, including the Model Risk Management (MoRM) framework and governance.
Collaborates with Product Owners and Chapter Leads within the Area to ensure efficient allocation of work, maintain high-quality deliverables, effectively manage stakeholders, and properly address HR issues.
Accountable for the efficiency, quality and consistency of the work performed by the Chapters, in cooperation with the PO & CL, with a clear focus on cross chapter consistency and risk-based way of working.
Accountable for the quality and consistency of the reports in the Area.
Ensure identification, recruitment and development of talent within the Area.
Monitoring the budget and financial performance of the Area, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs).
Together the two Area Leads are responsible for effectively distributing important Tribe- roles & responsibilities within the Areas and/or take accountability for specific topics.
First point of contact in case of issues such as anticipated inadequate footprint, critical or high severity controversial findings, tensions/heavy disagreements with stakeholders, and prolonged or stalled discussions with stakeholders.
How to succeed
An inspiring people manager who thrives on shaping sustainable, future-proof organizational structures. You should have substantial experience leading others in a hierarchical role.
A manager with 5 to 10 years of working experience in risk management and banking business related to modelling and/or validation of models and the associated regulations.
A proactive sparring partner and advisor to Senior Management.
A naturally collaborative individual who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals.
Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
Strong familiarity with key IRB, IFRS9, CDM and CREC regulations and metrics.
A quantitative background, ideally holding an MSc or PhD degree in fields such as (Financial) Econometrics, Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Financial Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics.
Energized by working in an international and inclusive team that emphasizes creativity and modernity.
Organized, persuasive, and adept at building relationships-a role model in these aspects.
Capable of making informed decisions regarding critical processes.
Your work environment
You will work together with various Risk teams, most notably Model Risk Management, Non-Financial Risk Management and Compliance.
You will report hierarchically to Head of Credit Risk Model Validation but will also have a close relationship with the other senior managers within Risk.
Your stakeholder universe includes (senior) stakeholders across the organisation worldwide, from ING Head Office and local business units, and across 1st and 2nd Line of Defence stakeholders. Externally, your stakeholder universe contains regulators such as auditors, national banks and the European Central Bank.
