Additional Information:
• This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
• This role is based at IKEA Distribution Centre, Marsden Park.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts (from 5:00am to 11:00pm).
• You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
• As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates, including a National Police Check.
• You will be required to have or obtain an NSW Security license if successful for this role.
About this work area
As Safety & Security Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:• Ensure compliance with IKEA Risk Management standards and all local safety & security laws and regulations on a consistent basis via a regular series of SOP audits, follow-up, education, training and reports.
• Initiate and monitor internal & external incidents and provide rapid response, investigation and reporting.
• Analyse incident trends (including accidents and injuries) and develop action plans to support safety performance.
• Support continuous improvement of an evolving unit via risk assessments, analysis and operational awareness.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Safety & Security team, emphasising customer-centricity, competence, development, and succession planning.
• Foster a strong safety culture within the Distribution Centre (DC/CDC), ensuring a safe and secure environment for visitors, co-workers, and contractors.
• Collaborate closely with DC management to implement and support risk and compliance measures, securing best practice safety systems and processes.
• Monitor and manage internal and external incidents, ensuring timely incident reporting and adopting a risk-based approach that balances 'safety meeting DC operations'.
• Coordinate with the Emergency Response Team to manage emergencies according to IKEA Emergency Response rules.
• Work closely with the Country Safety & Security Leader to maintain compliance with IKEA standards, risk management frameworks, and legal requirements.
As Safety & Security Manager you are or have:
• A strong and inspirational leader who can motivate and empower a diverse team to prioritise safety and security.
• An effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders and business partners on best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and implement effective solutions.
• A growth-mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changes and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Passionate about Safety & Security, driving this message within the store and maintaining a consistent positive customer experience.
• Proficient in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior experience in Safety, Business Risk & Compliance in warehousing, transport or similar industry is preferred.
• Current valid NSW Security license and First Aid & CPR Certificates, or a willingness and ability to obtain these.
