Corporate M&A is the in-house M&A team of Rabobank and is responsible for the sourcing and execution of all Rabobank Group strategic acquisitions and divestments globally, including for Rabobank subsidiaries such as DLL, Obvion and BPD. Corporate M&A is further responsible for winding down legacy activities related to prior acquisitions and divestments. The team works closely with the Managing Board in executing the strategic agenda of the bank.
Corporate M&A is the centre-of-excellence within Rabobank for all acquisitions and divestments, partnerships and financial restructurings worldwide. The team has an outstanding reputation and exemplary track record of executing complex transactions and is recognised as one of the leading Corporate Development teams in the market. Over the last five years, the team has completed over 20 transactions.
The Corporate M&A team is led by the Head of Corporate M&A and furthermore consists of 10 dedicated professionals with backgrounds in investment banking, restructuring and law. The Corporate M&A team is part of the Corporate Development department and reports to the Chief Financial Officer of Rabobank.
You and your jobWe are looking for an analyst to join the team. As an analyst you can make a difference by contributing meaningfully across the entire M&A process from idea generation to deal closing and formulate actionable advice to the Managing Board. The role as analyst will provide you with the perfect opportunity to learn the dynamics of M&A by actively shaping and executing the M&A agenda of the number 1 bank in the Netherlands. As an analyst at Corporate M&A you will:
- Be part of the team in the execution of deals ranging from EUR 5m to EUR 2bn+ in size, e.g. Through the preparation of board presentations, drafting of memoranda or in process coordination
- Be involved in a variety of projects and initiatives related to mergers & acquisitions, strategy and general corporate development
- Work on financial analyses and valuations using different methods such as discounted cash flows and peer multiple analysis
- Present findings to senior Rabobank staff with recommendations on investment rationale, value creation and next steps. Stay on top of industry trends, regulatory developments, our competitive landscape and other live transactions
To become a well-rounded professional, you will become part of the Early Career Program where you will attend training courses that support your personal growth. The courses are given by experienced colleagues or external trainers. You will build your network, gain valuable experience and develop skills which will be of use to you later in your career. Additionally, you have the opportunity to attend multiple trainings to develop your M&A skillset.
You and your talent:- You have completed a Master's degree in relevant field with excellent academic results. Candidates that expect to graduate in the summer of 2025 (ultimate graduation date of 31 August) will also be considered
- You have at least 1 internship in investment banking/M&A, private equity or strategy consulting at a top-tier firm. Candidates with multiple (relevant) internships are strongly preferred. Candidates with max. 1 year of full-time (analyst) experience can also apply
- You demonstrate drive and a genuine interest in banking, M&A and the financial markets
- You display strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- You are a team-player with positive attitude that is also able to act independently and capable of delivering results while working under tight deadlines
- You have affinity with financial modelling and valuation
- You are a fast learner and able to link various sources of information to our business
- You are able to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion
- You have impeccable verbal and written communication skills in English and are conversational in Dutch
