Inter IKEA is a group of companies that connects IKEA retailers with range development and suppliers and aligns the overall IKEA strategic direction. It consists of three Core businesses: Retail concept, Range and Supply.IKEA Supply is responsible to source, manufacture and distribute IKEA products to the IKEA retailers. This to secure customer availability in all markets and sales channels at lowest total cost.
IKEA Components is one of 7 business units in Supply and is responsible to developing, sourcing, packing and supplying furniture components, furniture materials and IKEA retail equipment, in areas where it benefits IKEA and the IKEA customer. We are approx. 1200 co-workers based in 31 different locations. Three locations are IKEA Components legal sites (Nantong, CN, Malacky, SK, Älmhult, SE) where we also run packaging and distribution production, meanwhile other locations are mainly IKEA Supply Areas and IKEA Industry sites. IKEA Component Category Area consists of 6 categories and have a headcount of 200 co-workers.
We work on assignment from IKEA Range, IKEA Supply and Retail Concept and are together with more than 2000 business partners aiming towards the wished position "Together in IKEA Components we have significantly increased IKEA competitiveness to be the leader in life at home."
About the assignment
As Category Area Manager within IKEA Components, you will be a key contributor, leading the development and implementation of our ambitious plans towards the future. Together with the Category Area Management Team, you will lead the Purchasing for IKEA Components to meet the Inter IKEA Group needs and deliver excellent results.
In the role as Category Area Manager, you will as well be a member of the IKEA Component global mgmt. Team. Meaning that you will contribute to develop of IKEA Components in all dimensions.
Your assignment
- Be responsible for developing and implementing the Sourcing Strategy for IKEA Components with a time horizon of 3+ years.
- Lead the Category Area Management team and build up the structure for the Category area, defining and creating the organisation.
- Through IKEA way of doing business, be responsible to secure right pre-conditions and lead to achieve professional long term business development and excellent results within the area.
- Establishing and managing cost budget for the Category Area; continuously use resources in an optimal way to secure business goals ensuring organisational efficiency.
- Recommend capacity commitments and investments according to bill of authority.
You will also be responsible for driving Leadership and Competence agenda for the Category Area: Identify needs and gaps, and build leadership and competence plans to meet the short and long term business needs
Act as an ambassador of IKEA values and Role Model for Fact-based Business leadership
About you
You are a strong business minded person with extensive experience from the area of purchase, you have passion for both business and people.
You dare to think differently, and you have an agile approach and adapt as you go. You are interested in finding new ways of working and are highly motivated to do this by leading our business agenda through people and collaborate and interact with many different stakeholders, creating new relations and networks.
You are senior in your leadership with the ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing in an inspirational way in an IKEA tone of voice. Furthermore, you have a high professional integrity and an ability to plan and handle multiple topics and changing priorities and deadlines.
