As a tech lead, you will play a crucial role in driving alignment, innovation, and success within your sub-domain, enabling multiple development teams to deliver the best possible software for our customers.

The Tech Lead role is all about technical leadership on the challenges we face in building our new omnichannel microservices platform.
As a tech lead, your primary focus will be on a specific sub-domain that spans multiple teams. Your role is to enable fast flow by building expertise in the sub-domain, helping teams connect with the business, and ensuring solutions are both effective and aligned with organizational goals.
Your main tasks for this role:
- Help teams document the current architecture, simplify it where possible, and ensure it is business-focused.
- Facilitate alignment between teams to execute plans and work towards our shared goals.
- Improve learning cycles within the department.
- Foster innovation by experimenting.
- 09:00 – 09:15: Join the stand-up of one of your teams to catch up on the progress on re-architecting the Product Service.
- 09:45 – 10:30: Work on writing an engineering strategy for phasing out a legacy integration framework and replacing it with SNS/SQS.
- 10:30 – 11:00: Help a colleague with a question about storing and rotating certificates in AWS.
- 11:00 – 12:00: Join the architecture chapter to provide feedback on the latest RFCs within the domain.
- 12:00 – 13:00: Lunch with colleagues in our Food Café and enjoy a short walk afterwards.
- 13:00 – 14:00: Participate in the weekly alignment meeting with the engineering lead and product owner.
- 14:00 – 15:00: Present your engineering strategy to the architect and director and collect their feedback.
- 15:00 – 17:00: Work on a proof of concept for adopting federated GraphQL within our landscape.
Together, we are Jumbo: Where you'll work
You'll will support in the technical endeavors of your sub-domain. Together with peers and a domain architect you make sure that the teams' plans are aligned across the department. You work directly with an engineering lead who will support you in your professional development.

- Demonstrable experience in simplifying complex architecture and helping teams become more productive.
- Work with teams, team leads, and our chapters to solve technical challenges and support them in implementing our engineering strategies.
- Coach teams and engineers and provide them with feedback.
- Proactively help our product owners with their roadmap, by simplifying solutions and giving the correct attention to the technical quality of the product.
- Challenge solutions and optimize focus for improving workflow while simplifying things for engineers, team leads, and stakeholders.
- Apply different leadership styles depending on the situation.

- A gross salary between €5.500 - €7.100 per month (based on 40 hours).
- An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
