Are you a team player with strong negotiation skills? Are you a networker that is able to see the bigger picture and always looking for the best deal for all involved parties? Then we might have the perfect challenge for you.
In the role of Team lead Procurement you are in the lead of procurement for one of the most important projects for our company for at least the next 5 years. The project requires the production of standard vessels on a scale that's new to the organisation. There are several dredging vessel designs that need to be produced in volumes relatively large to the shipbuilding industry. You will grow with the phases of the project. There is already a lot of research done and the strategy for the project approach is there. Now we need to take the next steps on a tactical and operational level.
In this function you will be:
- Acting as the primary focal point within the project as for the suppliers on all aspects related to the procurement package.
- Building a balanced network of partners that are willing to go the extra mile based on strong relations and fair agreements. You know what's needed to meet the project demands and create a profitable business (on specification, budget and in time).
- Working together in a multidisciplinary team with leads in project management, engineering, production and logistics. You are aware of the consequences of any supplier change for every internal stakeholder. Next to that you are able to non-hierarchically motivate and inspire a team of operational purchasers.
- Taking responsibility for product quality and enabling your suppliers to deliver their best work and be proud of the end result we achieve together. You take immediate action in case of a non-conformity. You get the supplier involved so he can fix it, while looking for lessons learned to continuously improve.
- Ensuring corporate alignment on purchases by implementing framework agreements in the project purchases. If these agreements do not yet cover the complete spend you provide the category manager with tactical input so that not only the project but also IHC can benefit from the conditions that you negotiated.
- Advising the project manager on potential risks. You are aware of the international situation and able to look ahead. You come up with risk mitigation measures that take every stakeholder into account.
Since you are in the lead of procurement, you are the expert in this discipline for this project and active as tactical purchaser. This makes the role challenging and gives you a lot of responsibility. However, you are not out there on your own. The Functional discipline procurement is part of Royal IHC's matrix organisation and offers you a community of procurement professionals. You will be part of the project team and report hierarchically to the Director Procurement.
