Job description
TU Delft | Learning for Life is an independent division within TU Delft, focused on developing educational products for Lifelong Learning (LLO). These include online courses, masterclasses, and summer schools designed for professionals. The content of our courses aligns with TU Delft's core themes, such as Energy Transition, Quantum Technology, and AI, Data & Digitalization. In close collaboration with the academic staff, we develop high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of (technical) professionals around the world.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a creative and visually skilled designer to create visuals for our courses as well as for branding, house style, and other communication materials. You will collaborate with course instructors, marketers, and communication professionals from Learning for Life. As a visual designer, you'll be part of the Business Team, which focuses on the development and promotion of our course portfolio and the optimization of the customer journey.
Your responsibilities:
- Designing visuals for courses, in close collaboration with instructors. You will translate content into strong visuals through an iterative design process. These visuals are used on course websites, in marketing campaigns, and within the courses themselves.
- Creating marketing and communication materials, such as brochures, posters, banners, presentations, and reports.
- Advising on branding and house style, and helping to develop visual guidelines and style assets.
- Translating complex and technical information into clear and engaging visuals, including infographics, research visualizations, and data illustrations.
Job requirements
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a completed education in graphic design or visual communication.
- Is proficient with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and ideally Figma or similar platforms.
- Can transform complex content into visual formats that are clear and accessible.
- Can translate technical language into visuals that are easy to understand for a broad audience.
- Has experience with multiple formats: print, digital, presentations, and reports.
- Designs with inclusivity and accessibility in mind, including the use of colorblind-friendly palettes and legible fonts.
- Is skilled in layout, visual hierarchy, and typography, particularly in academic or research-focused contexts.
- Has a strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.

University Corporate Office - Extension School
'To educate the world and enhance the quality of campus and online education' is the mission of the TU Delft Extension School for Continuing Education. A mission that has guided all activities of our innovation-oriented organisation since its foundation in 2014.
We focus on online continuing education. Together with the TU Delft faculties and external partners, we create and deliver courses and short programs that help learners at various stages of their professional life. We help them stay on top of their game, whether they are looking to change career, broaden their skillset, or acquire further academic qualifications. Think of international graduates who want to develop further through online education, and of people who have been in the labour market for a while and want to brush up on their skills and take the next step. Upon completion, our learners receive an official certificate for the educational module(s) they have taken.
The Extension School is part of the University Corporate Office and reports directly to the Executive Board. Our international team of about forty skilled, passionate colleagues comprises over ten different nationalities - Our culture is inclusive and very diverse!
Conditions of employment
- Duration of contract is tot juni 2026. Temporary.
- A job of 19-24 hours per week.
- A salary based on Schaal 09 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €3537 - €4860 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
