The Corporate Secretariat team within ABN AMRO's Corporate Office offers a unique work experience at the highest level in a dynamic environment and a close-knit team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end meeting cycle of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board. You will have the opportunity to experience the bank and management and develop yourself by seeing how ABN AMRO operates at the heart of the organisation in a highly sensitive and confidential environment.
Your workYou ensure that the meetings run smoothly. This means that you prepare the agenda, coordinate meeting documents, attend the meetings as a minute-taker, then set out and monitor the actions and decisions and finally work out the minutes. You advise on drawing up the agendas of the meetings and call in substantive expertise where necessary. Maintaining contacts with internal and external stakeholders is an important part of your job. For example, you will work closely with the business managers of the various Executive Board members. You have a critical eye and strive to optimize the existing processes.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Proactively managing the organisation of the meetings of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board from start to finish. This includes creating meeting agendas, quality control, and timely distribution of meeting documents;
- Being a minutes secretary at the various meetings of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board (including committees);
- Making high-quality minutes, including recording board decisions and action points;
- Managing actions in preparation for or in response to the meetings by engaging with stakeholders in a timely and active manner;
- Preparing and managing the annual cycle planning of meetings;
- Ensuring that the correct procedures are followed and that members act in accordance with their legal obligations as laid down in various documents such as ABN AMRO's Articles of Association, Regulations and Governance structure. Important sources in this regard are the Dutch Corporate Governance Code, the Banking Code and the EBA guidelines for internal governance and suitability.
In addition, you will also be involved in other activities, for example one or more of the following:
- Contributions to the annual report
- Contributing to diverse stakeholder management
- Contributing to continuous process improvements and innovation initiatives within the team. This includes reassessing current procedures, automating manual tasks, integrating existing and new systems, and developing a single way of working for the entire team
- Writing and maintaining process descriptions that are relevant to the role.
Within the Corporate Office team, you will work with highly driven professionals from diverse backgrounds. You will work for the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board from the Corporate Secretariat within the Corporate Office team. You report to the (Deputy) Company Secretary.
Your profileYour profile is a hands-on, motivated and inquisitive colleague who likes to work well with others. The following are particularly relevant in this regard:
- Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing; English elaboration of minutes of meetings
- The ability to organize and prioritize with an analytical mind and proven attention to detail
- Affinity with senior stakeholder management: excellent communication skills and a strong sense of organizational sensitivity. Modest where necessary
- The ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive information, in a fast-paced and complex environment
- Proactive, flexible, curious and resilient with the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new material
- University education, preferably in the fields of law, business, public administration or an equivalent relevant education
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience
- Relevant experience in corporate governance and board-level processes
- Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to corporate governance
- Knowledge of ABN AMRO's processes, vision, strategy, structure and organisation.

- An appropriate monthly salary based on a 36-hour (or a 40-hour working week if desired), including holiday pay and benefit budget
- The benefit budget is 11% of your salary. If you do not make any purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a month, you will be paid a twelfth part of your benefit budget for that month
- Five weeks of holiday per year + 5 Banking for Better Days. You have the option to buy four weeks per year
- Personal Development Budget of € 1,000 per year. You can save this amount up to € 3,000,-
