The Role:As a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will support with the development of the company's data platform on GCP, driving its architecture, implementation, and maintenance, while ensuring it meets the company's needs and goals. You will support the company's strategy by developing dashboards and visualisations answering key analytical needs.
Key Responsibilities- Data Solutions: Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics and operational use, ensuring efficient data flow and processing. Design and implement processes for data integration and transformation, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
- Data Visualization: Create visualizations and reports using tools such as Looker to unlock valuable insights and support real-time decision-making by integrating seamlessly with cloud-based datasets and systems.
- Data Governance and Quality: Ensure data quality and consistency across various sources, implementing best practices for data governance, data security, and compliance. Establish and enforce data management policies, standards, and procedures to ensure reliable and accurate data across the organization.
- Cloud Solution Selection and Cost Management: Select appropriate cloud solutions to meet business needs, managing cloud costs effectively to ensure budget alignment and cost efficiency.
- Technical Partnerships: Manage relationships with technical partners and consultants to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment with company goals. Communicate with rest of teams to identify and implement system and process improvements.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborate with peer data engineers, fostering their professional growth and development. Prioritize business requirements as communicated by the Data Insights Lead. Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs and ensure effective project delivery.
- Documentation and Performance Monitoring: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data processes, pipelines, and infrastructure. Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and optimize system performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- AI Initiatives: Be an integral part of AI projects for the group, contributing technical expertise and supporting the implementation of AI solutions. Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate AI models into data pipelines and deploy them in production environments. Stay updated with the latest AI and machine learning trends, tools, and technologies to drive innovation within the company.
Requirements:
- Academic degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or related fields
- Solid experience in developing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud based solution
- Relevant programming skills (Python, SQL, Java)
- Proven experience with developing and maintaining dashboards and data analysis solutions. Good knowledge of Looker is a plus
- Evidence required of self-managed projects and assisting more junior members
- Previous experience with hospitality data use cases, working with Property Management System data, will be a strong plus
- Results driven and dedication to answer business users' needs, along with flexibility to adjust to changes in strategy when necessary
- Full working proficiency in English
- Already being based in the Netherlands is a plus
