Your jobAs a Data Steward in the EEDD, you will play a vital role in shaping and implementing our data management strategies, focusing on proactive data improvements and robust data governance. Your work will be crucial for managing data risks and ensuring compliance with ABN AMRO's CDO policies, guidelines, and standards. You will enhance data quality, embed methodologies, and integrate best practices into our data processes to improve decision-making capabilities across the organization. Next to several other stakeholders we support, you will work closely with our Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) and Platforms & Technology (P&T) departments to assist them with data management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement data management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Analysts, Scientists, and other Data Stewards to support their Use Cases, as well as to gather and align on requirements for new and existing Data Products.
- Manage Data Quality Issues and Data Gaps, including performing root cause analyses on complex data sources and determining necessary follow-up actions
- Review and assess Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs), ensuring compliance and facilitating new agreements.
- Support the creation and periodic review of Use Cases, providing guidance and feedback to ensure alignment with data management protocols.
- Register and maintain Golden Datasets, ensuring accurate metadata and data lineage to support BCBS239 compliance.
- Build and align on Data Quality checks, translating business requirements into actionable data quality measures.
- Develop and maintain Business Data Models.
The EEDD consists of approximately fifty data professionals that collectively serve our stakeholders. Together we turn data into value. The Data Steward Team consists of approximately 8 Data Stewards, all reporting directly to a Data Product Owner. As a domain we are responsible for data quality, data distribution, data engineering & science and data analytics and our Data Stewards play a crucial role in guiding these processes. Together we work on (complex) data projects. We closely collaborate with colleagues from outside our own Data Management capability to get the job done. We all are eager to learn and improve ourselves. We work hybrid, team members work at least one day per week, preferably two, from our headquarters in Amsterdam.
Your profileWe are seeking a Data Steward who is passionate about data management and governance, with a keen interest in IT and Information Security. While a highly technical background is not necessary, you should possess a solid understanding of data processes and be eager to learn and adapt. Do you think there is a fit with us? - Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience or interest in Data Management (DAMA DMBOK) and Data Governance.
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus), capable of articulating complex data scenarios to diverse audiences, including senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring strategic alignment and promoting data management activities.
- Takes ownership by being accountable for decisions and their outcomes, committed to achieving goals and resolving issues.

- Passion for Technology, IT, and Information Security, without the need for a highly technical profile.
