As a Solution Consultant, you are responsible for making the right implementation choices within one or more agile DevOps teams. These teams develop applications that are used daily by thousands of customers. You serve as the IT expert for product owners, developers, and PostNL stakeholders advising on opportunities and risks, implementing solutions, and communicating changes clearly.

You actively contribute to improvements that make customers happy, and you ensure existing functionality becomes faster, cheaper, or more stable. Your role is essential in bridging the gap between IT and business, enabling the right decisions to be made quickly and effectively.

As a Solution Consultant, you will be involved in various projects that have direct impact on our digital logistics services. These include work on the full chain of consumer information. The result of your work will be seen by the 15 million users of the PostNL app. You will also be working on the customer chain. Your work on event streaming will directly integrate into the order management systems of our largest commercial customers.

Your key responsibilities:

• Translate user stories into clearly written requirements and process improvements, focusing on complex stories and cross-domain epics.
• Serve as the first point of contact and sparring partner for IT questions within agile teams.
• Test solution architecture for feasibility and alignment with business needs.
• Coordinate with other projects, agile teams, and IT colleagues.
• Drive concrete changes and improve business processes with or without IT support.

Jouw collega's

You will be part of the Digital IT department, specifically within the #include team. This team focuses on internal and external integrations with PostNL's large commercial clients and internal development teams. You'll support a range of platforms, including API management and Kafka-based event streaming.

The team works in a dynamic, digitally connected environment with daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and a strong focus on agile methodologies. Training, mentoring, and team diversity are key to achieving great results and continuous growth.

You have a customer-focused mindset and strong organizational skills, with the ability to translate business needs into IT solutions and vice versa. You communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and anticipate their concerns. You can negotiate with technical stakeholders to justify preferred solutions, drive implementation within and outside the team, and have a basic understanding of solution architecture.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:

• Affinity with the commercial domain and excellent communication skills in Dutch (minimum B2 level) and English.
• A completed HBO or WO degree.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, able to independently start and lead projects.
• At least 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, integration, or software engineering.
• Knowledge and some hands-on experience with cloud services and tools (AWS, Gravity, Apache Kafka, RESTful APIs).
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies is a plus.
