This role is responsible the operational and administrative handling of incoming and outgoing ocean freight shipments.

Position Title: Operation and Customer Service Specialist, Ocean Freight
Location: Schiphol-Rijk (Amsterdam)
Qualifications:
MBO training in logistics direction
At least 2 years of experience in the transport sector, in particular in the field of ocean freight forwarding
Curious and proactive attitude
Very organized
Stress resistance and a flexible work attitude are essential. In addition, it is important that you are quality and customer-oriented. Experience in customer service is highly desirable
Experience with clearing goods and/or a certificate 'Customs Consultant (Junior or Senior)' is highly desirable
Knowledge of the MS Office package: Excel and Word
Experience with ERP systems is a plus. Dimerco uses its own developed system.
Good command of the English and Dutch language in word and writing. Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Entering shipment data into the operational system, for incoming and outgoing ocean freight shipments.
Drawing up freight documents and/or customs clearance documents
Drawing up transport documents and handling the transport
Reserve space with airlines
Taking care of (pre)registrations and coordination of incoming/outgoing shipments
Informing customers about the progress of their shipment(s) and solving any problems that arise
Searching for feeds and making price agreements with a view to maximizing profit
Pre-calculation and billing of processed files
Liaising with customers, agents, suppliers and international offices
Other assignments may be directed by the Management
