Eurofins MicroSafe Laboratories in Leiden is a GMP certified contract laboratory for the (bio)pharmaceutical industry. Eurofins MicroSafe has approximately 70 employees and is part of the internationally operating Eurofins Scientific. We have a professional team consisting of a mix of young and experienced people with different backgrounds and experiences.
Eurofins MicroSafe Laboratories offers unique tests that allow us to investigate the safety, effectiveness and quality of a biological medicine, including cell and gene therapies, vaccines and monoclonal antibodies. For example, we can demonstrate whether a medicine is free of microbial, viral or production process-related contamination. In addition to carrying out standard tests, we also set up product-specific tests in close collaboration with the client.
Job Description
The Program manager has the responsibility to oversee all projects within the program and to achieve the objectives of these individual projects so that the central, overall objective of the program is accomplished. A Program Manager leads the overall program from the very beginning to completion with great attention to strategy, implementation and delegation.
A Program Manager will be the direct point of contact for the project sponsor(s) and multidisciplinary teams within the program. In the initial phase, the Program Manager, in collaboration with the project sponsor and business development, will define the scope, goals, deliveries, required resources, work plans, budget and timing for new initiatives and generate contracts based on this information.
From the start of the program, the Program Manager bears the responsibility that projects are carried out within the timelines and budget and that a complete overview of the program is maintained and communicated on a regular basis with all parties involved. Bottlenecks are identified and resolved in a timely manner in consultation with the parties involved.
The Program Manager may also lead internal programs of Eurofins Microsafe for the expansion of the portfolio in line with the strategy of the BU Eurofins MicroSafe and possibly in consultation with the customer.
The responsibilities translate into the following tasks:
- Drawing up timelines, capacity, and budget in collaboration with Business Development;
- Drawing up work orders in collaboration with Business Development;
- Manage the budget for the program and oversee that objectives are achieved;
- Technical scoping of assays and gap analysis to be transferred/ implemented;
- Monitoring of timelines and quality and identifying and solving bottle necks in a timely manner;
- Drafting and controlling tasks and responsibilities within the program;
- Manage engaged Study Managers and Technicians based on the timelines and objectives and identify opportunities and risks;
- Maintain a complete overview of project progress and prepare program reports for management and stakeholders;
- Proactively communicate with all parties involved;
- Ensure alignment of internal and external stakeholders at management level;
- Identify new opportunities and possibly implement a program of new techniques / equipment at Eurofins Microsafe. This can be managing the internally determined portfolio development program of Eurofins Microsafe, or new techniques that are implemented for a customer.
Qualifications
For the position of Program Manager at Eurofins we look for:
- MSc or PhD in relevant field (virology, molecular biology or equivalent);
- At least 5 years of experience with study / project management, preferably within the industry;
- Talent in stake holder management;
- Knowledge of relevant quality guidelines;
- Talent in coordinating and delegating projects;
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation and organizing skills within a complex matrix organization;
- Proven experience in writing proposals;
- You always think and act from the (internal) customer point of view.
