Job Description
Europe's energy transition is among the greatest challenges of our time. Its goal: To make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 at the latest. The Netherlands and Germany have therefore set themselves ambitious goals to expand offshore wind energy: as early as 2030, Germany and the Netherlands want to reach a capacity of 30 and 22.2 Gigawatts, respectively. Energy from offshore wind farms in the European powerhouse North Sea will play in this a crucial role. TenneT guarantees that this energy will reach the mainland
- and in the most environmentally friendly way possible. That is why we have developed the 2GW program with a unique transnational approach. And thus increase the pace and efficiency of the energy transition.
Position
For TenneT we are looking for a: Lead Project Management Office
- Delivery and Development Large Projects Offshore Netherlands (LON)
Large Projects Offshore (LON) is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
Team Delivery and Development
The Project Management Office does have three teams:

• Team Information management (BIM and SE);
• Team Delivery and Development.
The team consists of 14 colleagues (+- 10 FTE); cost engineers, quality managers (focus on the quality management systems for the unit and on processes, tools and templates for quality manager in the projects) and planners (program planning, set up standards, etc.).
Responsibilities
As the Lead Project Management Office (PMO)
- Delivery & Development (DD) (temporary position), you are responsible for delivering and developing project management standards within Large Projects Offshore
- PMO. Leading a team of ca. 10 FTE, the DD team focuses on establishing project management standards and policies, and facilitates their application within project teams. In this role, you drive standardization, harmonization, and coherence across projects, contributing to efficiency, cost reduction, consistency, and optimized synergies, as well as capturing lessons learned. As the Lead, you work closely with the other leads PMO and your stakeholders in the project teams. You also enable projects to apply these standards and audit project compliance. Additionally, you support projects in delivery and development, offering expertise in scheduling, quality management, cost engineering, project management, continuous improvement, and incorporating lessons learned. You act as a role model, fostering an environment that encourages employees to embody the desired mindset and behavior in line with TenneT's leadership principles of Connection, Ownership, and Courage.
Profile
•
• Academic working and thinking level, ideally with a Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field;
• Over 5 years of experience in project and program management for large-scale infrastructural (offshore) projects;
• You are capable of leading, motivating, and guiding a team of professionals and thrive in a collaborative environment;
• As a people manager, you embody TenneT's leadership principles (Connection, Ownership, and Courage), bringing structure to complex project and program environments with pragmatism and a focus on stakeholder needs;
• Possess knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 (!);
• Strong communication skills and cooperative approach allow you to influence positively and add value;
• You quickly grasp new concepts, are familiar with LEAN and Agile principles, and understand how to achieve operational excellence;
• Proactive, sensitive to stakeholders, have sound judgment, and are willing and able to travel as needed;
• You are an internal candidate, willing to accept this exciting, temporary, opportunity;
• Candidate needs to be fluent in Dutch and English.
Good to Know
In addition on the requirements above; TenneT is looking for a team manager. A project lead with relevant experience is also an option for this position or a manager of a KVGM department. Think about a candidate with experience with a planning & control department or with experience on the field of project management (in Dutch: projectbeheersing). Think of candidates working with RWS, Shell, ProRail or a contractor. An overqualified candidate is an option for this position as it is a temporary position. TenneT is looking for a people manager with attention for his/her colleagues and who can bring the team to the next step.

• Unfortunately a freelancer is not an option for this position;
• Duty station for this position is Arnhem Rijnpoort (Wednesday and another day of choice), other days hybrid.
Additional Information
Suppliers must be aware of the laws and regulations regarding employment conditions and TenneT's Collective Labour Agreement. This assignment is placed in scale 18; we would like to receive the personal motivation of the candidate and CV in English.
Screening
