Night Manager @ Via Amsterdam
The darkest nights produce the brightest stars! And we are looking for a new bright star in our team at Via, where travellers from around the world come together to experience comfort, community, and adventure. We are looking for a responsible and calm - but still fun ;) - Night Manager to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction during the night hours.
In this role, you will work with one or two Night Receptionists on shift. You report directly to and receive support from the Front Office Manager. The total team - both day and night - consists of 12-15 team members. The night team consists of 3-4 dedicated Night Receptionists.
A workday includes:
Follow up of daytime admin work.
Check-ins, check-outs and all other standard operational reception tasks.
Safety & security rounds in / outside the hotel and it’s premises.
Stock management (office supplies and guest supplies) of the Front Office department.
Recruitment and onboarding of new Night Receptionists.
Training and development of the team, making sure all team members stay up to date in knowledge and company developments.
Performance management reviews of the Night Receptionists.
You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
Love the dynamic vibe of a youth hotel environment, where there is also quite the buzz during the late hours of the day / night.
Possess good people knowledge.
Enjoy guiding and training team members. As we do not work with an outsourced party, we fully train and develop our own night team.
Thrive in an environment where guest service meets creating a safe place to stay and work. You are not a security officer, but you do contribute to ‘in with the good, out with the bad’.
Are accurate and like making sure processes are executed according to the outlined procedures.
Can handle working nights and adjust to night rhythm.
Knowledge or previous working experience with MEWS, our property management system, would be a strong plus.
Proficient in English, both verbal and in writing. Dutch is not a requirement.
