About the role
Are you an experienced compliance professional looking for a dynamic role within a bank? Rabobank is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to join our team. You will support the Head of Compliance Australia/Local Compliance Officer in driving, overseeing & acting as SME on the compliance incident management & breach reporting requirements & processes across Australia.
This is a parental leave cover role for 12 months.
This is a senior role & requires the role holder to assume hands on responsibility & direct accountability for tasks & activities allocated, working collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders to deliver objectives of meeting obligations & managing compliance risks within risk appetite. The role also requires engaging & presenting confidently with senior members of staff, including the Executive Team & Committees, & demonstrating behaviours & a growth mindset that assists with building a culture based on trust & psychological safety, constructive challenge, giving & receiving feedback, & open & balanced conversations.
The role will also:
- Act as the Compliance SME on broader Compliance related matters, such as client remediations, complaint handling & obligations mapping
- Provide technical advisory support on general enquiries, escalated matters, incident investigations & assessments & adherence with breach reporting requirements
- Review & challenge from a Line 2 Compliance perspective
- Facilitate & assist the business with Compliance policy implementation ensuring compliance risks are managed through appropriate controls
- Deliver technical training to business on compliance incident management & breach reporting
- Assist with other compliance activities as required, including governance reporting & ABA/BCCC activities, including regular reporting
- Assist with regulatory engagement with BCCC, ASIC, APRA & other regulators, as required
- Embed the relevant components of the Compliance Management Framework that within the team & as it applies to the business
- Manage incident assessment allocations & oversee Line 2 Compliance assessments undertaken, including regular monitoring, to ensure consistency & adherence to process/requirements across the team
- Undertake regular reporting & engagement with External Audit on compliance incident management & breach reporting
- Review, analyse & engage key stakeholders as required to take action on industry & regulator insights/guidance released
- Coach & mentor direct report & broader team members
To be successful you will have:
- 8+ years' compliance experience gained within financial services industry
- People leader skills-coaching & mentoring direct reports and broader team
- Demonstrated expertise in incident management & breach reporting, including hands on experience in undertaking Compliance breach assessments - particularly ASIC & BCCC regimes
- Experience with risk & control practices & broader compliance requirements such as, the Banking Code of Practice, client remediation & complaints handling
- Experience in undertaking governance reporting
- Experience in writing & delivering technical training to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience in managing key stakeholder relationships at a senior level
- Be comfortable in working with complexity & ambiguity
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
