What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced qualified Lawyer to provide comprehensive legal support to Rabobank UK and its relevant business units within Region Europe Africa & Asia and to liaise with external counsel as required.
The Function & Role:
The W&R Europe, Africa & Asia Region ("EA&A") is set up to serve wholesale clients in Europe, Africa & Asia and to strengthen our commercial and operational effectiveness in the corporate market.
The Europe, Africa & Asia legal team is responsible (inter-alia) for managing legal risk for the region, including the provision of legal support to offices in Europe including organising legal transactional, infrastructure and litigation support; the management of legal risks of the offices in Europe; and coordinating legal reporting to management for business units in Europe.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as an in-house legal counsel in a banking & financial services environment
- Experience in UK Regulatory matters desirable
- Excellent broad legal and working knowledge of the business areas involved
- In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organisations
- Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives
- Be well versed in how business operates with financial acumen
- Business facing approach and ability to adapt to current and future reorganisation / changes to work.
- Excellent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks.
