The Senior IT Business Developer is part of the SBL & Treasury (SBLT) IT department, functionally reporting to the Product Owner in the SBLT block within the Finance Cluster of the ABN AMRO Clearing IT GRID, and hierarchically reporting to the Head of IT UK.
A Grid is a clearly and logically defined cluster of teams with end-to-end responsibility for one or more product groups, channels, or enablers. Within a Grid, Business and IT colleagues collaborate using an Agile working methodology. Blocks are multidisciplinary teams composed of professionals from both business lines and the IT organization, who autonomously collaborate to achieve their goals.
ABN AMRO Clearing offers an integrated approach to global transaction processing, financial logistics, and risk management. Clients benefit from our global reach as well as from our staff's extensive expertise in local financial markets. The SBLT department is a block of the ABN AMRO Clearing IT Product GRID. The team focuses on developing in-house build applications Global Treasury Cash Management (GTCM), running and maintaining vendor software for Securities Finance Collateral Management (SFCM) at a global level. The team works in an agile way with three-week sprints. A Product Owner sets the priorities for the sprints in consultation with stakeholders.
The SBLT block is an agile scrum team of highly skilled international professionals. As a block member, you will participate in all the scrum events of this team and will work on and deliver stories as agreed upon in the sprint planning meetings.
In your daily work, you will interact with different colleagues such as:
- Product Owner, IT Development Engineers, and Business Developers working in the SBLT team
- IT Development Engineers and Business Developers working in scrum teams of other blocks
- IT Solution Engineers & Enterprise Architecture
- Specialists from our Global Technology Services department in London (DBA and Middleware specialists) and the Cognizant Technology Services department (platform and networking specialists and IT Operators)
- Other colleagues working in or for the AAC IT GRID such as specialists in Centers of Excellence (CoEs), stakeholders of the blocks, and the IT Engineering Lead
Your job
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement: Translate product and process improvements into value propositions and end-to-end solutions that align with technology, digitalisation, legislation, and regulations.
- Change Promotion: Promote change through proposed solutions, clarifying how improvements in performance, quality, and efficiency can be achieved for GTCM and SFCM applications
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders, creating support for implementing change and running activities in your discipline.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize knowledge of Oracle SQL, Java, Linux, Python, Confluence, Jira, SQL Developer, Jasper Reports, and SFCM.
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in all scrum events, working on and delivering stories as agreed upon in sprint planning meetings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT Development Engineers, Business Developers, IT Solution Engineers, Enterprise Architecture, and other specialists to ensure streamlined and standardized operations across all regions.

- Organisation Knowledge: Understanding of the organisation, services, products, processes, systems, and tooling for Securities Finance and Collateral Management.
- Design and Process Management: Skilled in design management and process thinking.
- Business and IT Architecture: Knowledgeable in business and IT architecture.
- Stakeholder Management: Experienced in managing stakeholders in an international environment.
- University level with strong work experience in business development and (standby) support.
