What our world looks like
Our world is mostly technical. We house all the expertise to maintain and develop our platform, without any third party intervention. Our daily activities are based around a multi-tenant hosted telephony platform. It provides all basic PBX functionality, as well as multiple APIs for our customers to customize their services. Our platform is built with stability and scalability in mind: we operate 24/7 and currently handle around 1 million calls per week.
Tasks
The life of a product owner
As a product owner you play a key role within Talksome. Not only are you responsible for the lifecycle of all of our products, you are also the driving force behind the sprintprocess. Your role is to make sure the team knows what to build, why, when and monitor the time to market. You bridge the gap between customer demands and technical requirements. You are also aware of the market needs and have your own vision on what our products should develop into. What you will be doing is two-fold:
“ Determine the destination”
- Create vision on where product needs to go shortterm/ midterm and long term, based on company vision and customer input
- Take ownership of the app and related backend development, prioritising new features and enhancements.
- Analyse market need by gathering customer input and investigating market evolutions.
- Define roadmap items based on the business value and business demand
- Gather feedback about specific needs from internal and external stakeholders to improve our products
“Lead the way”
- Take ownership of the sprint (planning) process, implement and improve the process to gain velocity
- Guide and coach stakeholders in the way of working of the sprint (planning) process
- Prioritising, grooming and managing the backlog of the team.
- Initiating, organizing and keeping track of actions of key meeting/ decision making processes regarding product roadmap/ development.
- Serve as a stakeholder for other engineering teams that have dependencies on your team
- Interface on a regular basis with Support and Marketing teams, bringing them up to date regarding releases, new developments and major changes.
Requirements
How’s the fit?

- experience in working in a product owner position, preferably in a similar (technical) environment;
- to have a vision on making cloud telephony products innovative and future-proof;
- to have market knowledge and ability to translate this to your roadmap
- the ability to translate customer needs to technical requirements
- the ability to build sustainable working relations easy and fast
- the ability to oversee and drive a sprintprocess that spans over multiple teams.
