An ambitious university requires dedicated support to its scientists, students and colleagues. The department Library and Information Services (LIS) plays a key role within the fields of (Research) Data Management, IT, and Open Science. Within LIS, the product area data & insights is looking for a medior data domain coordinator (DDC) to join the University's data domain coordinator team. This team consists of 3 decentral data domain coordinators located in services, 3 central data domain coordinators (located at LIS) a scrum master and product owner. The team's work focuses on realizing the University's goal of becoming a data-driven organization. The data domain coordinator supports services and departments (faculties) in reaching a higher level of maturity on different topics: data management, privacy, cybersecurity, archiving, amongst others.
As a data domain coordinator, you will work on these topics in both services and departments. In practice, this means you will be the first line of support for the privacy and cybersecurity team, as well as for any data management questions. Your work involves a high level of collaboration with different teams, and participating in a wide range of projects.
Examples of your work include:
- Contribute to raising awareness on safe handling of data;
- Responding to questions from colleagues in services and departments on e.g. Privacy or data management;
- Developing work procedures on different topics, such as data sharing and data retention;
- Negotiating data agreements;
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the legally mandatory Record of Processing Activities (ROPA);
- Handling data breaches and data subject requests;
- Support the privacy team in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA's).
You will receive in-house training on topics where needed, and you will work closely with the privacy, security and data management teams.

Who are you?
- You completed a relevant HBO (higher vocational education) or university level of education, for instance in a business administration field;
- You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience;
- You have knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or are willing to extensively educate yourself on the topic of personal data protection;
- You have an interest in, or basic knowledge of, cybersecurity and data management. Any experience on these topics is a plus;
- You have good networking and communication skills, and you are proficient in the English language, both orally and in writing. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus;
- You have customer focus, a keen attention to detail and you are energized by supporting and solving problems for both individuals and the organization as a whole;
- You take initiative in implementing solutions and you take ownership of tasks and projects;
- You're accessible and a team player;
- A Privacy and Security mindset, considering confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data;
- Risk driven way of working: identify, classify, and consider risks for acceptance and/or mitigation;
- You have experience using architecture guidelines and frameworks and are experienced in modelling the Data-architecture based on the ArchiMate modelling-language;
- You are acquainted with relevant reference architectures for the higher educational sector (HORA/HOSA) and know how to apply them to the organization;
- Sound knowledge of DAMA DMBoK;
- An advantage if you have knowledge of and experience with data management tooling;
- You are an ambassador towards stakeholders with good conceptual thinking skills;
- You can make connections across disciplines and get people involved in them;
- You have an innovative mindset and love to propose new solutions fitting the University's needs;
- You love to keep yourself up-to-date on the state-of-the-art solutions with regard to data governance, privacy and security;
- You have great social antennas and organizational sensitivity. You easily navigate and build connections across teams and departments.
