Job Description
Within the BMW Financial Services risk and finance management we provide state-of-the-art functionalities for fast and efficient decision making. Supported by a global harmonized data hub, we provide freedom for data analytics and pave the way becoming a data-driven organization.
We are currently looking for a data analyst that supports us in steering and further developing our applications for financial planning & simulation as well as for calculating the monthly expected credit loss. One of the major challenges will be the transformation of the current technical tool stack into the Cloud, including the evaluation of suitable alternatives.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a professional that is expert in SQL and experienced with Cloud technologies as well as ETL tools, preferably Informatica Powercenter. It is expected that the right candidate will demonstrate seniority by maintaining overview and by guiding different stakeholders to achieve the desired outcome. Although this role has a strong technical focus, project management skills as well as soft-skills are equally important.
Work environment
• Year to year project, with long term intention;
• 40 hour work week. 2 Days per week on-site (Breda) work required;
• Team setup: Agile working model with about 5 team members in Munich, 2 week sprints;
• Communication in English (spoken and written) and German.
Business Analysis responsibilities
• Capture, understand, and document business needs and objectives, translate into requirements for the IT development;
• Test and refine deliverables. Solicit feedback from business stakeholders from different countries;
• Create and refine user stories for our implementation provider, review of DoR/DoD (Definition of Ready/Done);
• Become a trusted point of contact for data-related questions;
• Analysis of data and data streams in case of productive issues (Informatica, Oracle);
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
Project Management responsibilities
• Evaluate technical options for migrating the current solution into the Cloud;
• Collect and understand business requirements, which includes a basic understanding of the underlying business processes;
• Plan and steer the migration accordingly.
Soft skills
• Proactive and clear communication to all stakeholders (mainly business)
Functie-eisen:
Proven experience in business intelligence, data integration, data analysis, or a similar role;
Knowledge of state-of-the-art Cloud technologies, including Python programming skills;
Degree in business administration, business informatics, information systems, or similar;
Communication skills with non-technical audience, such as requirements gathering workshops;
Experience as part of an international agile organization with a strong understanding of agile development (work in Jira/Confluence);
Very important are skills in SQL (Oracle), PL/SQL, understanding Informatica Powercenter workflows. Practical knowledge of reporting tools like Tableau is desirable;
Data modeling and profiling (knowledge about relational and dimensional data models);
Strong verbal, written, presentation & communication skills (English and German) combined with the openness for short business trips;
Team player, target-oriented, also able to work independently with little instruction;
Experience in the financial industry, preferably in the controlling & risk management area
