You are passionate about creating an unforgettable customer experience through your love for food, products and service delivery. You are confident in driving the food business through commerciality and have experience in managing costs, budgets, and rosters. You have a proven track record of developing and implementing short- and long-term action plans and consistently reaching performance goals. You are a strong communicator, with influencing and negotiating skills and you have the ability to collaborate and engage cross-functional teams to drive the IKEA Food agenda.

About this work area
As a Food Production Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and coach the operations team in optimising and developing the IKEA Food business by securing the IKEA brand position, strategies, legal compliance and people & planet positive in all IKEA touchpoints.
- Support your leadership team in managing the recruitment, retention, performance management, succession planning and competence development of the team.
- Formulate, lead and execute the department's action plans alongside an overview of the store business plan.
- Secure processes and procedures to ensure quality of food, food safety, excellence in operations and reduce waste.
- Implement global and national compliance standards, managing the food supply chain and range competence within the store.
- Secure an irresistible food offer by ensuring quality and an appealing range presentation.
- Manage high volume production planning as well as inventory management.
- Support and develop strategies to ensure profitability through P&L management and KPI follow up.
To be considered for this role experience in the following is essential:
- 2-3 years' experience as a food & beverage manager, Food productions manager, hospitality manager position or equivalent role within a large hospitability operation.
- You are committed to IKEA New Zealand in this role for 3 - 5 years.
- Robust knowledge in New Zealand food safety legislation & regulations, and proven experience ensuring compliance with all standards.
- Proven experience delivering and implementing short- and long-term action plans and consistently reaching performance goals.
- Proven experience leading & delivering a customer first culture and mindset within your team.
- Ability to coach and develop people and secure succession to bring together a high performing team that can contribute to business goals.
- Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace.
What you need to know
- This role is permanent full time.
- The salary range for this position is $ 105,000 - 115,500 gross New Zealand dollars, not including superannuation/pension.
- The work location for this role is IKEA Sylvia Park & external warehouse.
- Internal title is Unit Food Operations Manager.
- As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts.
- As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
