We are looking for a TAX Accounting Expert (Special Purpose) to join DHL Express.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

As an Accounting Expert within our Financial Accounting team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our international operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely and precise preparation and reporting of monthly financial statements. This role willfocus on the accounting of holding and financing companies, providing you with the opportunity to develop specialized skills within a global multinational organization. Your key activities will include.

• Preparing and following up on multiple balance sheet accounts.
• Maintaining the chart of accounts and performing account and sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Supporting the analytical review of the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements.
• Preparing and processing accruals and provisions and executing month-end closing activities according to the schedule.
• Providing financial information to local finance teams and internal/external auditors.
• Preparing statutory reporting in accordance with local GAAP, based on IFRS group accounting records.
• Acting as a subject matter expert in accounting, capable of understanding and addressing complex accounting issues.
• Understanding the interconnections between accounting and other Finance processes to support and advise colleagues and business partners effectively.
• Coaching and training colleagues within your area of expertise.

Do you have what it takes?

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's or University degree in Financial Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics.
• Strong understanding of Accounting and Accounting Principles.
• An interest in or knowledge of Dutch tax legislation and compliance is a plus.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Oracle/SAP applications.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with local business partners.
• Strong focus on continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with IFRS and Deutsche Post DHL policies is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in Record to Report (RtR) / General Ledger, with familiarity with RtR policies and Global Operating Models.
• Fluent inDutch and English.
