We are looking for a Finance Intern who can bring a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations while staying focused on improving processes. As a proactive problem-solver, you take ownership of your work and contribute to the team’s success. You are curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to challenge the status quo. Collaboration and communication are key, as you’ll work closely with an international finance team to gain valuable experience and make a meaningful impact!
As a Finance Intern at Picnic, you will work alongside the operational team(s) within Finance Operations to support day-to-day activities and ensure processes run smoothly. A key part of your role will involve maintaining and updating master data files, ensuring their accuracy and preparing them for the next phase of development. You’ll also assist with tasks such as data validation and reporting, while gaining hands-on experience with financial systems. Throughout the internship, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas for improving processes and learn about finance operations in an international environment.
Tricks of the trade
You will be joining the day-to-day business of the finance team. This means working on several projects and ad hoc activities but, you will also be responsible for your own recurring tasks.
Some tasks that you could be working on during your internship:
- Master data management: Maintain and update master data files.
- Data updates: Update supplier and customer data in Workday.
- Data accuracy: Ensure data accuracy and prepare files for the next phase of development.
- Data validation: Assist with data validation and reconciliations to support the cash management process.
- Invoice processing: Book and correct invoices while learning about the accounting streams at Picnic.
- Process improvements: Identify and drive process improvements.
Your superpowers
- You are currently enrolled in an applied science study (HBO) in the financial field
- You’re detail-oriented and take responsibility for your work
- You communicate clearly and aren’t afraid to speak up when you spot something that could be better
- You are fluent in both verbal and written English and Dutch
- You are available for at least 4-6 months
