Sustainability Leader
, who will be the key leader in development and implementation of our sustainability agenda, on behalf of IKEA in Älmhult. In this assignment you will identify new opportunities, enable collaborations and partnerships to drive the sustainability agenda in line with business priorities and the IKEA People & Planet Positive strategy. You will work close to the business, making sustainability an integral part of our daily and future agenda.Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and implementation of the sustainability agenda, on behalf of IKEA in Älmhult and according to IKEA People and Planet positive strategy, ensuring a common understanding of sustainability ambitions and making them business relevant.
- Take an active role in internal and external sustainability networks and forums, contributing to the overall success, development and long-term plan for IKEA in Älmhult.
- Initiate and/or lead tactical sustainability projects and topics.
- Lead and support integration of key sustainability parameters into the business and its processes, ways of working, tools, and competence.
- Develop and implement relevant sustainability goals, measurements and follow ups. Identify, monitor and act on sustainability trends, policy developments and business opportunities.
- Contribute to identify and mitigate sustainability risks.
- Support the business with expertise regarding sustainability and how to navigate based on a holistic view of the sustainability agenda in the business.
- Manage change by inspiring and guiding stakeholders in sustainability matters by e.g. Facilitate workshops, competence development and create support material.
- Act as a role model leading by example and promoting the IKEA Culture & Values
As our Sustainability Leader, you are equipped with good leadership capabilities including high commitment to business goals by thinking holistically, long-term and driving towards expected benefits. You possess good analytical skills and ability to integrate analyses into long-term planning. You enjoy leading with and through others and has excellent ability to build, lead across and develop strong stakeholder networks. You have strong communication skills and the ability to inspire others.
You are highly motivated to contribute to positive sustainability developments through the IKEA Direction and the IKEA People and Planet strategy. Needless to say, you are a proactive and fact-based decision maker with the ability to prioritize, delegate and escalate when you identify gaps and new opportunities to support the business.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
- Degree in Sustainable Engineering/Sustainability and Environmental Studies or any equivalent academics.
- Profound knowledge in global trends and goals within the area of sustainability (e.g. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development)
- Good knowledge in local and national trends and goals within the area of sustainability
- Knowledge in relevant legislation relating to sustainability
- Proven experience of leading through people
- Experience in leading sustainability topics in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience in leading and participating in change management processes.
- Passion and commitment to be part of developing the IKEA sustainability agenda.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
