Your day as Meetings & Events Sales Planner starts with a quick tour of the Meeting & Events Academy (Meeting Gallery with 19 modern rooms and 1 large ballroom for up to 750 guests) where you welcome the contact person of your group. You discuss whether there are any changes and how you can further assist him. After this, you visit your colleagues from the Meeting & Events Operations team and communicate the changes and feedback from the previous day. On the way to the office, you get a cup of coffee where you then get to work on your emails and requests. Then it's time to get started with the sheets. You know that perfect documentation of discussed details is the 'key to success' to make the groups go home happy and satisfied. Because if we can exceed the client's expectations, the client will definitely come back for the next event!
What does your day and job responsibilities look like? Basically, you make sure that everything that is contractually agreed in writing runs smoothly in practice at the actual venue. This means that you will;
Facilitates site visits to potential bookers;
Planning meetings and events carefully;
Knows how to make last-minute changes within no-time;
Hold preliminary discussions with the contact person on site;
Ensure that executive departments are aware of appointments and details;
Every booker, contact or meeting guest returns home satisfied and can't wait to book with us again;
Together with the M&E Planning Manager, solving problems and handling complaints;
So never a dull moment for someone who:
Has a positive personality;
Is driven to achieve the best financial objectives of the department and the hotel;
Can change gear quickly and can keep seeing the forest through all the meeting trees;
In addition to these traits, what else will you bring for this role:
At least six months to one year internship/work experience in this role in a similar hotel;
A completed hotel or events education at MBO or HBO level;
Preferably banquet sales experience within the 4/5 star hotel industry;
An excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Any second language would be a plus;
You are at home in all Office programmes;
