In this job you are responsible for the data quality of the General Ledger, performing in depth analyses on the Ledger processes and its data and work on the implementation of the new 'state of the art' General Ledger for the entire Rabobank. On top of that you manage several stakeholders across the globe on a variety of topics and you are the sparring partner for management and colleagues on ledger and control related topics.
As a Business Analyst you will gain knowledge on various financial processes and develop your skillset to link dependencies of financial processes and translate this to improvements, controls and processes. You will have a critical view and the ability to challenge and improve existing processes in a control environment to ensure regulatory standards are met.
This role will also provide you the opportunity to expand on your knowledge on financial instruments and increase your insights in the settlement, valuation and accounting processes within a wholesale bank.
Practical examples
- You are responsible for the data quality of the General Ledger. You execute several controls on a regular base and you support colleagues with accounting questions and manage incidents when they occur.
- You make a distinctive contribution in defining the requirements and processes for the future General Ledger (SAP). Next to that you define and draft accounting standards together with stakeholders.
- In order to meet deadlines, you have to prioritise tasks and liaise closely with other Tribes and Areas like Finance, Operations, Audit and various teams within Product Control and Accounting WR and Valuation & Market Data. You will liaise with stakeholders located in and outside the Netherlands.
- In addition you need to ensure compliance of the Area activities to company and regulatory policies. As such you are responsible for the data integrity of the systems used by various departments.
You and your talent
Ambitious, accurate, result driven, pro-active, independent and a team player with strong problem solving and analytic skills are essential for the role of Business Analyst. In addition, it's important that you recognise yourself in the checklist below:
- You have a Bachelor/Master Degree preferably in Finance, Accountancy or Business Economics.
- You have demonstrable experience, as an Analyst or Controller, with a -complex- General Ledger preferably within a financial institution.
- You have demonstrable knowledge of accounting and its standards (IFRS).
- You have a good understanding of financial -product- accounting within a financial institution.
- Experience with accounting system PeopleSoft and/or SAP is an advantage.
- You are comfortable with taking the lead on work items that are assigned to you and ensure that results are delivered in a timely manner.
- You are able to cope with time pressure and deadlines.
- You are able to clearly express your ideas in English both orally and in written form. Communication skills in Dutch are considered a benefit.
