The Security cluster at TU Eindhoven has open a position for an ICT Developer to support the cluster activities. The position focuses on the development and maintenance of the research and education infrastructure of the cluster. This includes the development of virtual infrastructure to hold class laboratory activities and conduct research experiments as well as developing data collection capabilities for underground monitoring. The successful candidate will manage an extensive portfolio of systems (IT/IoT/CPS) and will work closely with our research team. Therefore, a strong research attitude and a keen interest in research are essential.

The Security group (SEC) of the Eindhoven University of Technology has an opening for one scientific programmer/system administrator position. The main tasks are:

• Manage the group's IT infrastructure, software and data collection;
• Further develop the group's infrastructure. Current projects include the development of solutions for:
  • A distributed and scalable virtualization platform supporting research and education projects;
  • A platform for interconnecting geographically distributed IoT laboratories and supporting joint research activity;
  • Enhancing a Security Operations Center infrastructure based on the Security Onion distribution;
  • Network monitoring in different settings (ICS, IoT, etc.)
• Supervise and take lead in development projects and actively maintain the existing code base, data collection infrastructure and data sets;
• Collaborating with other staff in the data analysis phase and co-authoring scientific work resulting from the data collection and analysis.

Functie-eisen

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:

• a MSc in Computer Science, preferably with specialization in computer security;
• a research oriented attitude;
• practical experience with system administration, particularly of Linux-based virtualized systems;
• practical experience with software development, preferably with one or more of the following languages (Python, Rust, Java);
• practical experience with managing Elasticsearch-based data stores;
• interest in computer security;
• some familiarity with MatLab or other data analysis environments (e.g. R);
• good communicative skills in English, both written and oral;
• ability to work in a team, cooperate with the industrial partners.
