As the Head of E-Commerce, you will lead the transformation of the MediaMarkt Benelux online customer journey. Your primary focus will be to optimize the on-site (and in-app) experience, ensuring customers can easily find, explore, and purchase products. By combining customer insights, data analysis, and innovative design thinking, you will enhance user satisfaction, drive conversions, and increase online sales. In this challenging job, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the e-commerce strategy to improve the on-site customer journey, aligning with overall business objectives. You will lead and inspire a team of CRO- and e-commerce specialists to deliver a seamless online shopping experience, and you will oversee the management of the e-commerce platform, ensuring it meets current and future business needs. - Act as a key stakeholder in shaping the overall digital growth of MediaMarkt Benelux.
- Act as a key stakeholder in the collaboration with our International HQ in Germany to increase the ideation and development for our online customer journey.
- Oversee all aspects of the on-site experience, including navigation, search functionality, product pages, and checkout processes.
- Use data-driven insights and customer feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with our Central UX/UI teams to design intuitive and engaging user experiences that align with customer expectations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as conversion rates, bounce rates, cart abandonment, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Develop and support commercial initiatives to drive the sales growth ambitions.
- Implement A/B testing and personalization strategies to continuously optimize the user journey.
- Ensure the platform is scalable, fast, and responsive across all devices.
- Work closely with the marketing, CRM, and category management teams to ensure a unified approach to e-commerce.
- Partner with digital content and SEO teams to ensure on-site content drives traffic and engagement.
- Liaise with logistics and operations teams to ensure fulfillment and delivery processes support a positive customer journey.
- Ensure the website aligns with brand identity and supports MediaMarkt's omnichannel strategy.
- Leverage customer data and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, ContentSquare, Hotjar) to understand behaviors and preferences.
- Use insights to personalize the customer journey and recommend products tailored to individual needs.
- Stay ahead of e-commerce trends, benchmarks, and best practices in customer experience optimization.
Who are you?
To be successful in this position, we believe you need the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in e-commerce management, with a strong focus on customer journey improvement.
- Proven track record of driving conversion rate optimization (CRO) and increasing online sales.
- Expertise in e-commerce tools, and analytics software (e.g., ContentSquare, Google Analytics).
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and design thinking.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
For us, a plus will be:
- Fluency in French.
- Experience in retail, particularly in consumer electronics or a similar fast-paced industry.
- Knowledge of omnichannel strategies and integration of in-store and online customer experiences.
- Familiarity with emerging e-commerce technologies such as AI-driven personalization and voice commerce.
