Our client is a medium-sized company as part of an international group. It develops, produces and sells apparatus and piping systems made of steel and stainless steel for chemical and energy plant construction and provides these with various rubber linings and coatings.

In the course of an expansion, we are looking for a Key Account Manager (m/f/d) with perspecrtive for the further development of the client at the earliest possible date.
Tasks
- Your main task will be to acquire new customers, provide customer support and develop our client's demanding customer base within your sales territory. You will work on the strategic market development together with your back-office colleagues.
- You will spend around 75% of your time “on the road” and with customers - the rest of the time in your home office with occasional visits to our client's headquarters in southern Lower Saxony. This is also where the production of the apparatus and piping systems is located.
- You see yourself as a project manager between R&D, production, logistics and external partners. You will be responsible for calculation of your projects as well as the corresponding offers.
- In your business development role, you will work closely with colleagues and management to determine where future markets might lie - in terms of industry, technology and region - and how they can be developed.
- Occasional trade fair participations are the salt in the soup of your sales activities.
- You will report to our client's sales manager, with whom you will also work closely.
Requirements
- Ideally, you will have a suitable commercial or technical qualification (engineer, technician, industrial engineer, BBA, MBA, etc.) and at least initial experience in a comparable position. A background in the immediate industry can be just as helpful as a basic background in the sale of high class industrial goods.
- Much more important than any educational background and formal qualifications, however, is your proven practical experience (“track record”) in selling or advising products that require explanation, as well as your fundamentally hands-on and entrepreneurial nature and your attitude to work: you approach the issues you are responsible for with foresight and analytics, involve your internal and external contacts in a targeted manner.
- Despite your excellent negotiating skills, you act on an equal footing with all your contacts and are aware of the importance of reliability and clarity in communication.
- Ideally, you can demonstrate your sales successes in the past with corresponding key figures.
- Colleagues and managers are talking about a creative and at the same time assertive doer with a hands-on mentality when talking about you. About somewone who generates his or her success from the mixture of strategic projects and day-to-day business.
- It goes without saying that you are familiar with MS Office (especially Excel). Knowledge of CRM systems is welcome. The ERP solution used by our client is APplus.
- You will have a business fluent command of German and ideally an almost equally good command of written and spoken English.
- A class B driving license is also required.
