The team
The Investor Relations ING Group is a small team (9 people) of highly motivated professionals, working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. We play an integral role in the relationship between ING and its investors, and are responsible for providing the market with enough information so they can properly assess the opportunities and risks of investing in ING Group. While we are part of Finance and work with numbers, communications is a key part of our work. Our goal is to prepare and tell the ING story to investors, analysts and rating agencies and to take external feedback to advise the board on strategic topics. Working in this team offers a great opportunity to build knowledge on ING and an ever-changing range of topics relevant in the dynamic environment of banking. We use this knowledge to position ING as an attractive investment case to the outside world. Current team is built up out of team members with diverse banking backgrounds.
Roles and responsibilities
We offer the chance to work in a small professional and dedicated team and to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will be involved in:
Developing ING's external key messaging and the story behind the numbers
Developing a profound understanding of market dynamics/events and regulatory changes as well as assessing the consequences and determining the appropriate external reaction for ING
Preparing written communications, such as the quarterly press release, investor presentations (e.g. Capital Markets Day, Quarterly Results Presentation, Rating Agency presentations) as well as internal senior management briefing packages
(Virtual) meetings with investors, analysts and other external parties to tell the ING story and increase their understanding of ING and its strategy. These meetings can be IR-only or can involve members of the Executive Board, MBB and senior managers
Topical analysis facilitating strategic decision-making by the Executive Board, MBB and senior management
Dealing independently with ad hoc information requests from investors, analysts and other external parties
You will work in close cooperation with multiple lines of business, at Head office and country level, as well as Group staff departments, including Finance, Sustainability, Risk Management, Capital Management, Treasury, Media Relations, Legal and Corporate Strategy.

Strong inter-personal and influencing skills - able to quickly establish a rapport
Gravitas - proven track record to operate comfortably with senior (external) stakeholders
Languages - fluency in written and spoken English essential; Dutch useful
Our Hiring Process
The Head of IR will compile a short list based on the objective criteria above. The shortlisted candidates will then go through an interview process with key stakeholders. Reference checks will also be part of the process.
Sensitive Position
This vacancy is one that is deemed 'sensitive' therefore an extra security clearance is required by Corporate Special Investigations (CSI). Only after a positive CSI clearance, the person is allowed to be appointed to this position.
