We are a highly motivated team that specialises in credit risk policies, regulations, and governance. Our goal is to set and maintain ING's global Credit Risk Framework and group credit risk policies ensuring a compliant and up to date policy house. We are the subject matter experts on credit risk regulations being the centre of competence and responsible for knowledge sharing within ING Group. Additionally, the team acts as the secretary function for the main credit risk steering committees. The Credit Risk Policy team works from our head office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
For this team ING is looking for a Senior Policy expert with a genuine interest in regulations related to distressed debt and its compliant translation into ING policies.
What you'll do
Jointly responsible for the policy suit that relates to distressed debt: making sure our policies are regulatory compliant and fit for purpose to manage ING's credit risk.
Engaging with and advising to senior management.
Participate in regulatory projects related to, the Definition of Default, Forbearance, Early Warnings indicators.
Build and maintain relations with internal stakeholders, regulators, supervisors, industry associations (e.g., NVB, AFME, EBF) and the teams in both 1st and 2nd line and ING locations.
Explain policy requirements in the organisation and to the supervisor/regulator.

Well-established track record in credit risk management practices either as a policy maker or as a credit risk decision maker - at least 10-years' banking experience.
Drive to translate complex topics into an easy-to-digest text in our policies and the ability to develop presentations to that same effect.
You are the expert in credit risk regulations (CRR, CRD, RTS, EBA, ECB Guides) and risk metrics (e.g., PD, EAD, LGD, RWA, EC).
Participate in internal validations, audit inspections and ECB inspections.
Represent ING during interactions with the supervisor and experienced in ensuring timely and high-quality delivery following supervisory requests.
Able to identify problems independently and to solve them in collaboration with stakeholders.
Personal qualities and behavioural traits
Fluent in English.
Strong analytical and reading skills and able to understand, digest and interpret complex regulatory texts in its relevant context.
Solution-oriented; a creative and steadfast negotiator that can balance multiple internal and external interests, easily navigates through different cultural and professional environments, and enjoys being instrumental to an effective and robust outcome.
Ability to be a trusted advisor to senior level ING colleagues.
Able to identify problems independently and to solve them in collaboration with team members or stakeholders.
