What you do
The Supervisory American Citizens Services (ACS) Assistant works in the Consular Section. You perform the most difficult aspects of the full range of routine and emergency U.S. citizen services. As a supervisor, you directly supervise the Special Citizens Services Team Lead and locally employed (LE) staff assigned ACS-related portfolios (approximately five people in total). You provide guidance and advice, particularly in complex cases, to the ACS Chief, the Consular Chief, and adjudicators and/or eligible family members; and advise, motivate, and build the capacity of the ACS Unit.
What we ask (minimal requirements to apply)
· Five years of experience working in an office environment that requires dealing with the public, regulations, policies, and procedures.
· At least one year of experience supervising or managing a team of employees.
· Bachelor’s degree (law/criminal justice, communication, sociology, international relations, or business administration).
· Fluent English and Dutch (speaking/reading/writing) are required.
NB: this vacancy is advertised with substitution of experience for education. For the substitution, the requirements are:
· Seven years of experience working in an office environment that requires dealing with the public, regulations, policies, and procedures.
· At least one year of experience supervising or managing a team of employees.
· At least two years college or university studies is required (no specific field required).
· Fluent English and Dutch (speaking/reading/writing) are required.
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass security certification and may be required to obtain a Certificate of Conduct for Natural Persons (VOG) from the Ministry of Safety and Justice of the Netherlands.
What we offer
· Annual salary of EUR 56,284 – EUR 78,795
· 8.33 % End of year bonus (13th month)
