This is a challenging opportunity for a dynamic professional to join the AF team, located in Amsterdam. The Acquisition Finance team is a global platform with over 100 high-performing individuals, being an instrumental pillar within ING Capital Markets and Advisory organisation. AF NL + DACH's defined priorities are maintaining its leading market position in the Benelux and growing the DACH franchise by focusing on lead lending roles in underwritten capital market transactions/club deals, while maximizing cross buy for the WB.                                                                                                                                   

Your work environment:

You will work in a professional, deal-driven environment with dedicated (deal) teams. You take the lead in supporting private equity players/corporate clients, by structuring and negotiating an appropriate debt package to support the envisaged leveraged buy-out/acquisition. All transactions encompass an international element as deals are structured in order to attract liquidity from investors/ banks active in the global leveraged loan/bond markets. Next to deals, you invest in building client relationships with financial sponsors and corporate/portfolio clients by actively seeking origination opportunities and identifying ways to actively cross buy ING products and services.

Who we are looking for?

AF is seeking an individual who has a proven track-record in leveraged loan/HY market, cash flow-based debt structures and a substantial external international (private equity) network in the Benelux and DACH region. The candidate should be an highly effective team-player with an hands-on/can-do mentality, capable of playing a pivotal role in deal team as well as coach (junior) team members. Preferably, the individual has been acting as a deal captain running and executing transactions from A-to-Z.

Main responsibilities of the Director - PE-controlled and Leveraged Corporates - include:

• Maintaining a commercial relationship with (international) private equity firms/corporate clients active in the EMEA markets (focus in Benelux and DACH) in order to generate leads for transactions;
• Being on top of the developments in the (non-investment grade) leveraged loan and HY capital markets, identifying market opportunities and pro-actively pitching ideas;
• Overseeing deal teams, preparation/analysis of credit applications, due diligence, financial model;
• Structuring leveraged corporate financing structures and negotiating deal terms with PE/Corporate clients; and                                                                                                                                          

Managing the internal process and contacts with other departments such a Loan Distribution Group, Risk Management, Legal and other WB departments.

Your profile:

• A seasoned professional with relevant multi-year experience in private equity, investment/commercial banking;
• Familiar with the leveraged loan/bond capital markets and proven experience in executing of transactions (incl. Legal docs);
• Strong commercial drive combined with a well-developed risk awareness and analytical skills;
• Excellent team player with an extensive internal network relevant to the job;
• Strong communicator and representative of the team, capable of handling very tight deadlines and internal/external pressure with a high level of decisiveness;
• Keen eye for cross buy opportunities, operating effectively in the corporate environment;                                                                                                                  
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with high degree of integrity and professionalism; and
• Professional proficiency in English and Dutch.
