Who you are
This position is to be filled fulltime for a limited period of 1.5 years.• We don't care what professional education you have or what you studied. What matters is that you have proven track record in the Leadership of communication teams and communication agencies.
• You have deep knowledge in media relations - corporate, product and brand communication, including experience in crisis communication and positioning, with a proven track record of managing media relationships effectively.
• You have an extensive network within the German media landscape and experience in establishing close relationships with senior journalists.
• You can compile the results of press work into concise, impactful reports for C-level stakeholders.
• You possess strategic communication skills and use insights to formulate comprehensive communication strategies and plans that align with business objectives.
• You are familiar with the media landscape and have up-to-date knowledge of traditional and social media platforms, their usage, and methods for measuring their impact.
• You understand IKEA's corporate identity and know IKEA's core values and vision, ensuring accurate and consistent representation in all communications.
• You have a passion for modern digital retail trends and are enthusiastic about staying current with digital retail trends and implementing them in communication strategies.
• You are skilled in stakeholder management and create engaging communication while effectively managing relationships with media and other stakeholders.
• Strong text and language skills in German and English (written and spoken)

• You promote and protect the IKEA brand by developing and maintaining strong relationships with media and influencers to enhance and safeguard the brand's reputation.
• You develop and implement PR and media strategies by creating and executing comprehensive PR and media strategies at the country level, focusing on both earned and owned media.
• You engage in proactive and reactive communication by managing proactive and reactive communication efforts through media and strategic influencers to address both opportunities and challenges.
• You strengthen communication preparedness for crises by developing and implementing plans to handle reputational issues and crises, ensuring the organization is prepared to respond effectively.
• You identify and support IKEA leaders as communicators by training and supporting IKEA leaders to be effective and inspiring communicators, acting as spokespersons when appropriate.
• You increase brand awareness by utilizing targeted media strategies and co-leading events to elevate brand awareness and engage the public effectively.
