NIBC Interim Manager Data Platform and Advanced Analytics

Overview
NIBC Bank is seeking an experienced Interim Manager to lead our centralized cloud data platform team and advanced analytics capability. This role is crucial for ensuring platform stability, security, and development while managing our managed service provider, Xebia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the financial industry, with a comprehensive understanding of the policies and standards required for our data platform. This is a temporary, external position with a focus on operationalizing our platform supporting the centralization of data products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing people and setting up and operationalizing central data platforms and data science platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and advanced analytics capabilities.
• Experience working within the financial industry, with a comprehensive understanding of relevant policies, standards, and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with managed service providers and ensure platform stability and security.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and execute clear roadmaps and operating models.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
• Experience with MLops and productionizing data science models is a pre.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership and Management:
•
• Lead and manage the centralized cloud data platform team and Advanced Analytics team, providing direction and support to ensure high performance and engagement.
• Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and tools to succeed.
• Grow the team by hiring new employees.
• Platform Stability and Development:
•
• Ensure the stability and security of the data platform in collaboration with Xebia, our managed service provider.
• Develop and implement clear processes for platform management, including incident response, change management, and performance monitoring.
• Establish new Data Science platform using Databricks and AzureML.
• Create and maintain a roadmap for centralized reusable components such as data loading mechanisms and non-functional requirements like data masking and data retention policies.
• Adherence to Financial Industry Standards:

• Ensure the data platform complies with industry policies, standards, and regulations.
• Stay updated on relevant financial industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the platform.
• Target Operating Model (TOM) Development for Advanced Analytics:

• Develop a Target Operating Model (TOM) for advanced analytics, providing technology and guidelines for the productionization of data science and models.
• Establish and operationalize MLops capabilities, ensuring that processes and tools are in place for efficient model development, deployment, and monitoring.
Your team
We set up the Data & Analytics department to enable our business domains to deliver high quality data products using our modern cloud data platform. The mission of this technology driven department is to ensure that data can be sourced, ingested, integrated, and consumed through well designed, automated, and simple to use services and frameworks. In total there are 7 teams in the D&A department. This position will lead the crucial central platform capability that will be used throughout the company.
