Group Finance is looking for a Senior Reporting specialist with a focus on ESG reporting and for the coordination of the Group annual report process. Who is passionate about reporting and has knowledge on applicable reporting frameworks with a desire to work in a dynamic and internationally oriented finance team at ING's Head Office.
Your Work Environment
External Reporting is the corporate staff department that is responsible for the external financial and regulatory reporting of ING Group and ING Bank. Within Group Finance, the ESG reporting team is responsible for the non-financial information in the Annual Report and its compliancy with applicable regulations e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy and upcoming regulations from the SEC. Furthermore, the team ensures that there is a controlled environment for reporting on non-financial information throughout the bank. The team provides advice to the business regarding their end-to-end process documentation, identification of risks and design of mitigating controls. The team drives continuous improvements in the reporting processes and plays a key role in the implementation of new ESG reporting requirements.
This is a dynamic environment as requirements and expectations of all stakeholders are continuously evolving, especially in the ESG area. Besides external stakeholders, which includes auditors, the department supports internal stakeholders by providing insight in key developments and advising on the impact of regulatory and financial developments.
Tasks & Responsibilities
You will be an integral part of the ESG reporting team and drive the reporting processes around ESG related reporting requirements. At year-end you will be coordinating the annual reporting process of ING Group, ensuring a smooth end to end process while managing different stakeholders and perspectives. Your tasks will revolve around:
- Coordinating the preparation and publication of the ING Group Annual Report, including the sustainability statement in compliance with all reporting regulations and disclosure requirements.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve clarity, accessibility and effectiveness of (ESG) reporting and disclosures
- Ensuring the governance is being adhered to including engagement with senior management and board functions.
- Managing the assurance process for ESG reporting, coordinating with internal teams and external auditor to ensure accuracy and reliability;
- Maintain and further advance a solid control framework, working closely with affected stakeholders, to ensure the integrity of ESG reporting;
- Providing internal subject matter expertise including review and challenging the (ESG) integration and reporting process;
- Managing & advising on the implementation of current and emerging (ESG) disclosure frameworks, including a.o. Guidelines from SEC, CGC, IIRC, CSRD, SASB, TNFD and EUT;
- Participate in projects to advance, integrate and implement ESG reporting disclosure requirements, including CSRD.

- You have current residency in the Netherlands and are familiar with the Dutch Corporate Governance
- Educational Background: You hold at least a Master's degree (RA or RC is a pre).
- Extensive Experience: You bring over 10 years of experience in the financial sector, with a strong track record in project management, preferably in the area of reporting or within a global audit firm.
- Reporting Expertise: You possess in-depth knowledge of both existing and emerging reporting frameworks, such as the Dutch Corporate Governance Code, Value Reporting Framework, EU Taxonomy and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
- Analytical and Solution-Oriented: You excel at managing complex processes and projects, maintaining an analytical mindset, having an eye for detail and the ability to understand the bigger picture.
- Stakeholder Management: You have exceptional skills in managing and engaging with stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: You are highly proficient in MS Office and have a strong affinity for technical processes, with the ability to think in structured or architectural terms.
- Structured Approach: You apply a methodical way of working and have a solid understanding of controls and how to ensure a controlled environment.
- Independent and Resilient: You are self-sufficient, hands-on, and able to remain resilient under pressure.
- Communication Skills: You are fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
