At Picnic, we’re revolutionizing the way people buy groceries with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. We do almost everything in-house, developing cutting-edge technologies and processes to ensure we continue to grow rapidly without missing a beat. If you’re a passionate Payroll Specialist we’re offering you the opportunity to join the diverse team at our Amsterdam HQ and make a real difference in our scaleup environment.
🥜 In a nutshell
Thanks to our Shoppers and Runners, all Picnic customers can have their food delivered on time. They are extremely valuable to the entire Picnic supply chain, without them our business could not continue to run smoothly.
As our Senior Payroll Specialist you will be co-responsible for the four-weekly payroll of the entire company and will take over the communication with our payroll provider. You will work with various internal and external stakeholders and be part of the finance team. However, we are on a journey to constantly scale our business and running a smooth payroll is critical, this means that besides the recurring payroll activities you’ll get involved in various improvement processes, such further integrating our software to third-party providers, participate in the year-end audit and perform ad-hoc analysis together with the People team.
🎯 What you’ll do
- Review, approval and control of four-weekly salary payments
- Continuous further development of our payment process including participation in tech initiatives to develop a (home grown) system solution which scales just like Picnic does
- Preparation and execution of payroll accounting for a defined group of employees
- Responsibility for maintaining and tracking all changes that may lead to a change in payments, e.g. Employees leaving
- Responsible for all other aspects of payroll and good care of our employees, such as pension registration, assuring timely sickpay and coordinate social security communication with UWV.
- Management of numerous stakeholders both inside and outside Picnic in the payment process
⭐ About you
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR or similar
- Very good knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheet (if possible VBA and/or JavaScript knowledge)
- 4-5 years experience in the fields of payroll, payments, HR or Finance
- Initial experience with an HCM system is advantageous
- A very responsible and accurate way of working
- Ability to effectively set priorities and communicate payment progress
- Fluent in Dutch and English
