Senior Sales Director – Northern Europe (German Speaking)
Location: This role requires frequent travel across Northern Europe, so ideal candidates would be based in Netherlands or Germany/DACH/BENELUX
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (with flexibility for out of hours cover such as attending industry trade shows and exhibitions etc.)
Experience Level: Due to the nature of the role, a high level of proven success in a similar position in the renewable energy sector is required.
Salary: Competitive plus bonus scheme and company vehicle

GivEnergy Europe was formed at the end of 2022. As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Sales Director to lead our Northern European sales efforts, and replicate our successful UK model across Europe.
Since 2018 GivEnergy has quickly grown to be a leading manufacturer of electronic equipment designed to manage energy use and production. We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money! Last year we diversified into electric vehicle chargers, smart plugs and introduced our flagship product – the All In One system.

Tasks
What You’ll Be Doing:
Although this role will be strategic and a key member of the Senior Management team in Europe, whilst the Company is in its start-up phase there will also be an expectation for the successful candidate to get involved in the day to running of the department as they build their team around them in time.
This role will focus on the domestic energy storage portfolio, with the Commercial side of the business. With responsibility for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue and growth, expand market share and establish GivEnergy Europe as a trusted brand in the European battery industry.

Market Entry Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive market entry strategy for Northern Europe to establish a strong presence and gain a competitive advantage.
Sales Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performance sales team, set sales targets, and provide clear direction and motivation to achieve sales goals.
Market Research
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities, customer needs, and emerging trends in the European battery market.
Client Acquisition
- Identify and target key customers, distributors, and partners in Europe, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building and collaboration.
Product Portfolio Management
- Work closely with the product development and engineering teams to ensure the product portfolio meets the specific needs of the European market.
Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and sales initiatives to drive revenue growth and profitability.
Contract Negotiation
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, distributors, and suppliers to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
Post Sale Customer Engagement
- Extend accountability beyond the initial sale by overseeing the post-sales support and customer satisfaction efforts.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance customer experience, including technical support, issue resolution, and training programs.
- Measure and improve customer satisfaction levels to ensure long-term customer retention and loyalty.
Credit Management & Receivables Oversight
- Take responsibility for monitoring and managing the credit and receivables process. This includes conducting credit checks on customers, assessing doubtful receivables, and ensuring timely resolution of payment disputes.
- Implement strategies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow by actively managing credit terms and collections.
Compliance
- Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant regulations and standards in the European market.
Reporting and Analysis
- Monitor sales performance, analyse data, and prepare regular reports for senior management, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for sales objectives.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:

- C2 Level German and English
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven track record of success in senior sales leadership roles within the battery or related industry.
- Valid driving license.
- Strong knowledge of the European battery market.
- Experience in building and leading high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
- Ability to travel as needed to support business development efforts.
- Willingness to go above and beyond regular duties, contributing to various tasks to support the team's success.
