You and Your Job
The Managing Director will be successful overseeing the business development of assigned region(s). This position supervises Relationship Managers (RM) and in some cases Team Leaders. Managing Directors are responsible for the execution of the sales strategy, including setting individual goals for team members and working with the Head of Rural - United States to determine compensation and rewards to the team. Managing Directors are also responsible for communicating any policy and procedure changes as well as providing feedback to managers on resolving issues within the business that impact the execution of business strategy, team members or clients.
The Managing Director is responsible for carrying out the Relationship Development Framework to develop strong Relationship Managers, which will include travel on a regular basis with individual team members on customer calls to assure proper execution of sales strategies within company policies and procedures as well as monitoring of pipeline/call reports, including ensuring the adoption and use of the Salesforce CRM system. The Managing Director will also lead a weekly team meeting with the purpose of communicating the status of deals and re-prioritizing workload, as needed, to meet customer expectations. Sets and monitors the SLAs of the RMs to deliver all necessary documentation in a timely manner, including ensuring the accuracy of such information. The Managing Director will work closely with business process leaders to ensure business processes align to meet customer and market expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops marketing plans with the team for the region and individual offices.
- Coordinates marketing plans with Head of Rural-US and the Marketing partners.
- Monitors lead-based network and provides support.
- Accountable for portfolio goals for own region and large clients including unassigned regions and for all Relationship Managers (RMs) supervised.
- Continual review of RM regions to gain efficiency in marketing, production, collections and training.
- Monitor RM pipeline reports weekly; monitor RM budgets.
- Oversee management of RMs in assigned regions and serve as their liaison with rest of the organization.
- Works closely with the Financial Analyst Manager and Closing Manager to ensure customer expectations for closing, reviews, renewals, and changes are met.
- Maintains close communication with Credit, Appraisal, Legal, and Closing departments.

To be considered for Managing Director role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree
- 15+ years of experience in RAF or similar experience.
- Can demonstrate the ability to manage personal relationships in a manner conducive to managing a team of Relationship Managers.
- Shows consistency in handling customer requests, objections and market development.
- Can demonstrate to Risk Committee's analytical abilities and understanding of the risk associated with financing agricultural producers.
- Demonstrates to marketing and sales management an ability to maintain and grow a portfolio.
- Show a trend of achieving or exceeding annual portfolio growth and profitability targets.
- Demonstrate good business judgment in handling client information, objections and complaints.
- Proven ability to maintain excellent working relationships with Deal teams and Relationship Analysts.
- Demonstrate to management an understanding of and commitment to the company culture of Accountability, Commitment, and Teamwork.
- Work with Regional staff and Senior Management to identify strategic growth opportunities for the company.
- Serve effectively as a mentor to less experienced staff members.
- Ability to travel regionally, up to 50%.
